Chapter 76 The Diagnosis of the Master Physician
Chu Tian stared directly at Tang Long amidst the crowd, saying nothing.
“If it weren’t for Dr. Tang, we wouldn’t have come here for treatment at all.”
“I didn’t expect the morals of the Spring Rejuvenation Hall to be so corrupted. We really misjudged these people before.”
For a moment, the crowd buzzed with discussion, and all cast contemptuous glances toward Chu Tian.
“Xiao Tian, there are already too many people gathered at the entrance. If we keep dragging this out, what will happen to the reputation of the Spring Rejuvenation Hall? Should we just close the doors for now?”
Lin Qinghan inwardly lamented her predicament, her heart wavering toward retreat.
“Third Sister, we’ve done nothing wrong—why should we choose to back down?”
“The more you retreat, the more these patients will believe Tang Long’s lies. In the end, they’ll only be deceived by this quack.”
Chu Tian stood resolute, unwilling to yield even a single step.
“Hmph, you woman who toys with emotions! I hereby announce my resignation.”
“Patients, if you trust me, never come to the Spring Rejuvenation Hall for treatment again.”
Tang Long proclaimed loudly, stirring up a considerable number of patients.
At that moment, a thunderous shout echoed from outside the door.
“Tang Long, you’ve got some nerve. Do you really think I don’t exist?”
Wu Liang, seventy years of age, still possessed a voice full of vigor.
Instantly, the clamor ceased, and all eyes turned toward the door.
Wu Liang now entered the clinic, accompanied by a burly middle-aged man—Wang Jiulong.
“Move aside!”
Wang Jiulong strode forward, waving his hands lightly and pushed back the crowd blocking their path.
After all, as an expert in internal strength, dispersing the crowd was hardly a difficult feat.
“Who is this old fellow? How dare he scold Dr. Tang in public! Doesn’t he know Dr. Tang is the disciple of the National Medical Sage?”
“Quiet! This gentleman is the National Medical Sage himself!”
“What! He… he’s Wu Liang?”
At first, the crowd did not recognize Wu Liang; but as his identity dawned on them, cries of astonishment erupted.
Yet, why would a National Medical Sage suddenly appear at this humble clinic?
Could it be that Wu Liang had come to support Tang Long?
But just now, Wu Liang had clearly rebuked Tang Long. The relationship between master and disciple was a mystery to all!
“Teacher, wh-what brings you here?”
Tang Long was dumbfounded, unable to fathom what mistake he had made to warrant such public chastisement from his mentor.
“Get out of my sight. I have no disciple like you.”
Wu Liang waved his hand, brushing aside Tang Long who blocked his way.
“Teacher, wh-what have I done wrong?”
Tang Long was alarmed; his fame and fortune all stemmed from the title of National Medical Sage’s protégé. If Wu Liang no longer acknowledged him, his life would plummet instantly into ruin.
“Master Wu, that is Mr. Chu!”
Wang Jiulong leaned in and whispered to Wu Liang.
Wu Liang’s expression stiffened.
Before coming to the Spring Rejuvenation Hall, he had already learned that Chu Tian was a young miracle doctor.
But he never imagined Chu Tian would be so young.
This youthful face—perhaps only eighteen years old!
Could he really be the miracle doctor who cured cancer?
If not for Wang Jiulong’s testimony, Wu Liang would never have believed that Chu Tian was the famed doctor.
“Master Wu?”
Wang Jiulong prompted, bringing Wu Liang back to himself.
“Mr. Chu, you mentioned a case you wished me to diagnose. Might I ask what case it is?”
Wu Liang hurried forward, bowing deeply.
This scene utterly stunned everyone present.
“Am I dreaming?”
“The National Medical Sage is bowing to an apprentice in a clinic?”
“Tang Long just questioned this apprentice’s medical skills, and now, in the next instant, the apprentice is recognized by the National Medical Sage himself. This reversal is unbelievable!”
The crowd looked on in disbelief.
To be personally acknowledged by the National Medical Sage—who would dare doubt Chu Tian’s medical prowess now? That would be nothing short of self-humiliation.
Perhaps this is the power of fame.
Lin Qinghan had previously defended Chu Tian, yet no one believed her; but with just a word from Wu Liang, everyone was convinced.
Suddenly, an idea blossomed in Chu Tian’s mind.
“Teacher, have you lost your senses? How can you bow to him?”
Tang Long snapped out of his stupor and tried to intervene.
“Shut up!”
“Matters between myself and Mr. Chu are not for you to judge!”
Wu Liang shook off Tang Long’s hand, his tone colder and more distant.
Tang Long stood frozen.
To intervene or not—both seemed impossible, leaving him utterly at a loss.
“Master Wu, please diagnose this lady’s condition.”
Chu Tian turned, his gaze falling upon the young woman.
“Madam, please.”
Wu Liang politely gestured, inviting her to sit.
“Yes,” she replied, her face lighting up with joy.
To be diagnosed personally by the National Medical Sage—now she had nothing to fear.
Wu Liang first glanced at the prescription Tang Long had written, then took her pulse, conducting a thorough examination.
The clinic fell silent; no one dared interrupt Wu Liang’s diagnosis.
He was the most authoritative person present, and only he, the National Medical Sage, could discern right from wrong.
After a moment, Wu Liang finished the diagnosis and withdrew his finger.
“Master Wu, is my constitution cold or hot?”
The young woman, worried, hurriedly asked.
The crowd shared her anxiety, all eager for the final verdict.
“You have a uterine heat constitution. This blood-activating and cold-dispelling decoction is unsuitable for you. If you were to take it continuously for a month, your uterine heat would become incurable, and you might never be able to conceive in your lifetime.”
Wu Liang sighed; the truth was obvious. His own student had misdiagnosed the illness.
A misdiagnosis was forgivable, but refusing to correct it—that was the greatest disappointment!
As soon as he finished speaking, the room erupted in chaos.
“Dr. Tang really did misdiagnose! If we hadn’t met Master Wu today, we wouldn’t have believed it.”
“Is this truly a mistake, or did Dr. Tang knowingly cover up his own error?”
The crowd pondered anxiously, their views of Tang Long shifting.
“Even if you were careless and misdiagnosed this lady’s condition, once someone pointed it out, you should have realized your mistake.”
“Now, what explanation do you have?”
Wu Liang demanded.
“Teacher, I…”
Tang Long was speechless, retreating two steps.
“Refusing to correct your mistake, disregarding the patient’s health—you are indeed unfit to be a doctor.”
“From now on, never claim to be my student. I have no disciple like you.”
Wu Liang slammed the table in fury, severing their master-disciple relationship before the crowd.
