Chapter 19: The Second Senior Sister Wants to Kill Chu Tian
Ye Binglan narrowed her eyes and asked, “Are you certain it was my elder sister who played a trick on you?”
“Yes, that’s… She’s your sister?” Li Shiming’s expression froze, clearly caught off guard by their relationship.
But that was no longer the point—the real issue was that he had just insulted Liu Qingxue, insulted Ye Binglan’s sister. Everyone who frequented this bar knew just how terrifying Ye Binglan’s methods could be.
Sure enough, in the next second, Ye Binglan’s face had already darkened.
“How dare you insult my sister—do you have a death wish?”
A cold glint flashed in Ye Binglan’s eyes, and the temperature in the entire bar seemed to drop several degrees.
“Miss Ye, I… I didn’t know she was your sister,” Li Shiming stammered, scrambling to explain. He didn’t even dare stay seated, immediately straightening up.
“Get out.”
Ye Binglan’s voice was icy and impatient; she had no desire to waste time on the likes of him.
Hearing this, Li Shiming felt as though he had received a royal pardon. He spun around and ran straight for the bar’s entrance.
At this moment, Ye Binglan’s attention was entirely fixed on Liu Qingxue. She only wanted to understand why her senior sister had come to drown her sorrows in drink.
Her instincts told her that the reason for her senior sister’s strange behavior tonight must have something to do with Chu Tian.
“Elder Sister, why did you bring this guy here?” Ye Binglan noticed Chu Tian standing to the side, a flicker of displeasure crossing her eyes.
She truly believed that Chu Tian was nothing more than Liu Qingxue’s pampered boytoy, and thus found him distasteful at every turn, even resenting his presence in her bar.
“Second Sister, I know you don’t understand my decision. But haven’t you considered that he might be the man we’ve been waiting for?” Liu Qingxue chuckled softly, tilting her head back to drain her glass.
Ye Binglan was briefly stunned, but quickly caught on.
“Elder Sister, are you saying he’s… the junior disciple?” Ye Binglan’s disbelief was palpable. Could this utterly ordinary-looking young man really be the successor chosen by Wu Xingyan?
“Yes, I am your junior disciple,” Chu Tian replied with utmost seriousness. Though he wasn’t pretending in the least, he couldn’t help but wonder how he might tease his second senior sister next.
“Second Sister, you remember our master’s order, don’t you?” Liu Qingxue paused, her expression turning meaningful. Tears even shimmered in the corners of her eyes.
“Of course I remember, it’s just…” Ye Binglan’s face was filled with reluctance. She had already resigned herself to the dictates of fate, but now that her junior disciple had truly appeared at their door, she still found it hard to accept.
“I’ve already decided to devote myself to our junior disciple. I brought him here tonight to introduce him to you, so that together we can serve him. No matter how unwilling either of us might feel, this is our master’s command, and we cannot defy it.” Liu Qingxue closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, her voice thick with emotion as though she might burst into tears at any moment.
Chu Tian stared, dumbfounded. Senior Sister’s acting was truly flawless—how had he never known she was such a master of pranks?
“I… I want to speak with our junior disciple alone,” Ye Binglan said, sensing the reluctance in Liu Qingxue’s voice—but she herself was no more willing.
“Of course,” Liu Qingxue nodded.
After that, Ye Binglan shot a glare at Chu Tian and turned to head upstairs to a private booth.
Chu Tian understood her meaning and could only follow in her wake, entering the booth together.
“Close the door.”
As soon as they stepped inside, Chu Tian, at Ye Binglan’s prompt, shut the door behind them.
The men in the bar watched with crazed envy. What kind of luck did this kid have, to be alone with the beautiful owner of Dark Night Bar?
Most crucially, the booth was superbly soundproofed. With the door closed, no matter what went on inside, no sound would leak out.
Yet the atmosphere inside was nothing like what those outside imagined.
“Second Senior Sister, what did you want to talk about?” Chu Tian asked, barely having time to turn around after closing the door.
“I want to kill you.”
Without warning, Ye Binglan drew a dagger from her chest and hurled it straight at Chu Tian.
His pupils contracted as he dodged to the side—the blade glinted coldly as it grazed the tip of his nose and embedded itself in the door.
“Second Senior Sister…” Chu Tian was stunned.
In the next instant, Ye Binglan became a blur, charging at Chu Tian in a flash. Another dagger appeared in her hand, slashing directly for his throat.
Chu Tian leaned back just in time—the blade swept past his eyes. In a flash, the two switched positions, and Chu Tian slipped from the corner by the door to the center of the room.
“Second Senior Sister, let me explain—this is all a misunderstanding!” Chu Tian raised his hands, trying to calm her down.
But Ye Binglan wouldn’t listen. Her mind was filled with images of her senior sister. The thought of someone as strong as her, forced into solitary drinking and even shedding secret tears, made it impossible for her to forgive Chu Tian.
“Our fate is ours to determine—don’t think for a moment that we’ll just offer ourselves up to you,” Ye Binglan snapped, her brows furrowed as she stabbed the dagger toward Chu Tian’s chest.
This time, Chu Tian did not dodge. Instead, he flicked the blade lightly with his forefinger.
A clear, ringing note echoed as the knife flew from Ye Binglan’s grasp and embedded itself in the wall.
Ye Binglan was startled—she had not expected Chu Tian’s strength to be so formidable, able to send her dagger flying with just a finger.
In the next moment, Chu Tian closed in, seized both of her arms, and pinned her against the wall.
It was an unmistakably ambiguous pose—the curve of Ye Binglan’s hips pressed flush against Chu Tian’s body. Anyone who walked in would immediately misinterpret their relationship.
Chu Tian silently cursed—he realized now that Senior Sister wasn’t pranking Ye Binglan at all. She was pranking him!
Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open and Liu Qingxue walked in.
“What are you two doing?” Liu Qingxue exclaimed in feigned shock. She had only meant to tease her second junior sister, but now the joke had gone a bit too far.
“Elder Sister, don’t misunderstand—it’s not what you think,” Chu Tian hastily released Ye Binglan, terrified that Liu Qingxue might get the wrong idea.
“Elder Sister, what is going on?” Ye Binglan remained on guard, still staring at Chu Tian with hostility.
“Second Sister, Chu Tian isn’t the kind of man you imagine. He respects our wishes and would never force us. Just now, we were only playing a little joke on you.” Liu Qingxue couldn’t help but laugh, her icy goddess facade falling away completely.
Watching this, Ye Binglan gradually relaxed, though she was still confused.
“What on earth are you two up to?” Ye Binglan demanded, her expression deeply troubled as she looked from Chu Tian to Liu Qingxue.
