Volume 1, Chapter 120: The Story of Old Sheepskin (Part II)
Bojigou has vast coal reserves. The major deposits that have already been surveyed have all been claimed by state-owned coal mines, leaving private mines to scrape together only the scraps around the edges.
“You can forget about it!” Jiang Tang’s senses returned, and she sprang away from him. Yet she did not quite succeed. The flame in her lower abdomen grew even more unruly, winding several times around her waist before transforming into a beautiful ribbon.
Hadn’t he gone to take part in that competition? She had seen him ride toward the depths of the mountains only a short while ago. How had he already appeared back at the camp?
Li Ang was always like this. His expression was invariably touched with calmness. No matter how perilous the situation, he always seemed to have endless solutions, forever confident and composed. Lu Xueqi only had to look at him, and a profound sense of peace would fill her heart.
Xiang Long’s heart jolted. If the match were truly fought this way, Meng Yun might score forty points in a single game, perhaps even more. But he would eventually grow tired. Once his stamina was exhausted, what would the outcome be?
Even though Feng Qingcheng refused to drink the medicinal soup she prepared, she continued brewing it without fail. Every morning and evening, she carried the freshly made medicine to the Qianyuan Hall, only to pour it away afterward. Even when Feng Qingcheng ignored her, she could still shamelessly linger in the Qianyuan Hall for a while.
He was tall and strikingly handsome, dressed in garments white as snow and filled with an imposing righteousness that made him seem untouchable. Golden currents of energy surged around him, and in an instant he unleashed an immense celestial power capable of destroying heaven and earth.
“You’re saying that you became this powerful by seizing other people’s spiritual power?” Teska asked.
Zhao Qing’s expression grew somewhat awkward. Earlier, she had said that she would do her best to satisfy some of his demands, but now regret had begun to stir in her heart.
By the end of January, half the regular season had already passed. The Nets had played forty-seven games. Although their performance had steadily improved—and they had lost only three games in January—they had suffered too many defeats earlier in the season. Their record stood at thirty wins and seventeen losses, giving them a winning percentage just above sixty percent and placing them fourth in the Eastern Conference.
At that moment, Ye Yingfeng stood there with an air of tranquil detachment, his spirit settled and his breath composed. Beneath his sharply slanting brows was a pair of eyes that gleamed like stars. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, and a biting chill arose from him. The iron sword in his hand gave off a series of soft, triumphant hums.
One spirit herb after another was swiftly collected by Lin Chen and stored in his Cosmos Pouch. Behind him, Hua Shuirou’s face was flushed, and sweat had soaked through her dress, clinging tightly to her body and fully outlining her graceful, curving figure.
The two sides faced each other, both waiting for their entire armies to assemble before launching a decisive battle. Each day, they sent only a few soldiers to make probing attacks at the pass, or else hurl insults at one another.
Shi Jingtian rolled his eyes in exasperation. Taking care of the sweet and adorable girl was a pleasure in itself, but Mo Yan was physically disabled yet possessed an unyielding will, chattering endlessly from morning to night. He was, after all, one of the ten great assassins—so how could he possess not even a trace of a cold, aloof aura?
Then again, if one did not know that the Third Prince was, in fact, an out-and-out rich second-generation heir, anyone who saw him dressed like this would inevitably think he was a scavenger collecting discarded goods.
“Then didn’t you offend anyone in the Deadlands?” Shi Jingtian pressed. Apart from Qin’er, the only person he truly cared about was this elder brother he had met just a few days earlier.
But the monkey mother scratched her head, grabbed him by the fur at the back of his neck, and lifted him back to his original spot. She then rose to her feet and began pounding her chest alternately with both hands. As she struck herself, she opened her mouth toward the sun and sprayed out a stream of white vapor that twisted and writhed within her mouth.
Xu Chu galloped straight down and fought several generals with all his strength, charging left and right through Wei Yan’s formation. Xu Huang led his troops in an assault from behind Wei Yan’s ranks, trapping Wei Yan’s army in the middle. They could neither advance nor retreat, unable to protect both their front and rear.
