“Tang? Cousin?” Du Yuan-kui’s gaze darkened as his mind raced. Suddenly, he recalled something and asked again, “Did they mention if this Tang is a member of the Miracle Mercenary Group?”

“They… they did.” The hostess shivered, her voice trembling. “Scarface… Scarface said the Miracle Mercenary Group was wiped out, and among the survivors, there’s a little girl, Tang’s cousin. Her father nearly crippled Brother Hui before…”

Bang!

A dull thud. No sooner had the hostess finished speaking than she was sent flying seven or eight meters by a kick from Du Yuan-kui, crashing into the side wall of the bar. Blood poured from her head as she collapsed to the ground, her fate unknown.

“I knew it was connected to the Tang family!” Du Yuan-kui, suffused with murderous aura, growled in a low voice, not even sparing a glance at the hostess. He barked, “Go, bring Tiger here!”

“Yes.” One of his subordinates replied in a hushed tone and quickly exited the bar.

“You, bring me the surveillance footage!” Du Yuan-kui pointed at the bar manager, his voice savage.

“Yes… yes.” The manager bowed repeatedly, hurrying to the surveillance room. He retrieved the footage and brought the laptop to Du Yuan-kui.

Without needing instructions, he quickly played the video for Du Yuan-kui.

Unfortunately, the dim environment of the bar and the swirl of colored lights made it impossible to tell when Kou Xiaohui and his group were poisoned. Several people had passed by them, but their faces were unclear. The surveillance captured only vague shapes; if these figures had disguised themselves, even their gender would be indistinguishable.

Most crucially, from the moment Kou Xiaohui’s group sat down to the point of their poisoning and death, no one else had direct contact with them.

Finding the murderer through the footage was simply unrealistic.

Du Yuan-kui watched from beginning to end, his murderous aura not diminishing but instead growing ever more intense.

Crash!

He swung his hand and slapped the laptop from the manager’s hands, sending it flying. It smashed to the ground, breaking into two, its components scattering everywhere.

At that moment, the burly youth named Tiger—whose right hand had been crippled by Tang Mubai’s punch earlier that morning—entered the bar, his hand still bandaged.

“Captain!” Tiger stopped five meters away from Du Yuan-kui, greeting him respectfully.

“After you split up from Tang Mubai this morning, did Xiaohui attempt any further retaliation?” Du Yuan-kui turned, fixing Tiger with a fierce glare.

“Yes!” Tiger nodded. “Brother Hui got his hands on a bottle of poison. Biao bribed a kitchen helper in the Miracle Restaurant to poison Tang Mubai. But it didn’t work—Tang Mubai seemed to sense something, skipped lunch, broke the poisoner’s hand, and threw him out of the restaurant.”

Du Yuan-kui nodded, asking no further questions. Instead, he beckoned Tiger forward and pointed to the corpses of Kou Xiaohui and his companions. “Take a look—was it this poison?”

Tiger stepped closer, examined the symptoms on the bodies, and his expression shifted. He bowed his head, “It’s exactly this poison!”

“Hehehe… hahaha…” Du Yuan-kui laughed, his murderous aura intensifying to its peak with every chuckle.

“Good. Very good, Tang Mubai!”

“To pull off such a flawless counterattack in so short a time—excellent, truly excellent!”

“Lin Huafeng, that meddling fool, wanted to look after you? Hah, it’s you who should look out for him!”

“A brat who’s just broken through as a professional martial artist, quietly poisoning six people—if given time, the Miracle Mercenary Group might truly rise again under your hand!”

“Incredible, simply incredible!”

Murderous aura swirled around Du Yuan-kui as he paced, cold laughter spilling from his lips.

The crowd around him dared not even breathe.

Though Du Yuan-kui hadn’t spoken of killing anyone, every soul present felt the suffocating deathly aura emanating from him.

Including Tang Mubai, listening in from the other end of the bug.

“Discovered so quickly that I was the one who poisoned them—impressive!” Tang Mubai sneered inwardly, putting away his phone and preparing to head back to the bar and confront Du Yuan-kui.

Just then, a luxury sedan rolled up from the distant street and stopped in front of the bar.

Once the car was steady, the driver and a bodyguard in the front seats stepped out first.

They moved to the back, opened the rear door, and escorted a young man out. He wore a pink suit, his hair slicked back in a pompadour, and a pair of tea-tinted sunglasses perched on his nose.

Ignoring the two guards Du Yuan-kui had stationed at the bar entrance, the young man strode inside with hands clasped behind his back.

The driver and bodyguard followed closely.

Outside in the alley, Tang Mubai—about to emerge—paused when he saw this scene. He pulled out his phone, plugged in his earphones, and resumed eavesdropping.

Inside the bar, Du Yuan-kui, brimming with lethal intent, was issuing orders to mobilize his men to the Miracle Mercenary Group’s headquarters, intent on killing Tang Mubai and anyone connected to him.

The young man in the pink suit entered, whistling, and said with interest, “Captain Du, who are you about to take out?”

“Manager Dong?” Du Yuan-kui turned and recognized the newcomer, his anger abating slightly. “What brings you here tonight, Manager Dong?”

“Nothing major—just passing through. Heard you were having some trouble, so I thought I’d stop by and see if I could help.” The young man smiled.

“Thank you, Manager Dong, but there’s no need. I can handle it myself.” Du Yuan-kui forced a smile.

“Are you sure?” The young man pressed the point.

“I’m sure.” Du Yuan-kui’s face was earnest. “It’s just a small fry—I can settle it easily.”

“Good, then.” The young man nodded. “Captain Du, we’re partners now. If you have any issues or troubles, don’t hesitate to reach out. Our ‘Red Lake Group’ will make sure everything is arranged or taken care of!”

“Keeping our partners satisfied has always been our group’s ethos. Captain Du, don’t be shy!”

“Thank you.” Du Yuan-kui smiled. “Don’t worry, Manager Dong—if I need help, I’ll let you know.”

“That’s the spirit!” The young man nodded approvingly, glanced at his watch, and bid farewell, “I’ll be off then.”

“Take care, Manager Dong. I’ll see you out.” Du Yuan-kui moved forward to escort him.

Bang! Bang!

Two muffled thuds sounded suddenly.

Du Yuan-kui looked up to see his two guards at the door sent flying from outside.

“Careful, Manager Dong!” Du Yuan-kui leapt forward, shielding the young man, catching the guards and easing them to the ground.

Then, he glared furiously at Tang Mubai, who strode in wearing a baseball cap, and growled, “Who are you? Dare to cause trouble here—aren’t you afraid…”

Buzz~

The air vibrated.

An invisible, terrifying pressure erupted, enveloping the entire bar.
