Whoosh!

With a light tap of his toes, Tang Mubai soared into the air. He punched a hole into a section of the dome and placed the formation disk inside.

Immediately after, he drew the Flame Bone Blade and enlarged it, filling the entire cavern with a scorching, fiery radiance.

The moment the first orc scrambled out of the opening, Tang Mubai brought his blade down.

"Whoosh-boom!"

A searing heat, accompanied by blade energy, engulfed the entrance. The orc that had emerged was torn apart instantly, the smell of charred meat filling the air.

"Roar!"

From deep within the tunnel, enraged roars of orcs erupted—sounds of utter madness and fury.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Charging forward, one orc after another flashed out of the hole like lightning. The moment they saw Tang Mubai, their shock turned into the peak of rage.

"It’s a human!"

"Damn it, how did a human get in here?"

"We’ve been betrayed! Yue Shengke betrayed us! Something must have happened to our kin in the human city!"

"Kill him! Kill him!"

Roar! Roar! Roar!

Amidst the bestial bellows, the orcs rapidly transformed, their faces twisting into hideous beast-like visages as they lunged at Tang Mubai.

"Whoosh-boom!"

Tang Mubai swept his blade in a wide arc around his body.

The scorching, fiery blade energy acted like a mechanical cutter. With a series of wet, tearing sounds, the orcs in the vanguard were sliced into two, three, or even four pieces.

Amidst the spray of gore and mangled flesh, he thrust his blade into the ground.

He channeled the "Cloud-Rolling Hand," striking out with one massive palm print after another.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Muffled thuds echoed throughout the cavern, punctuating the orcs' screams.

Tang Mubai stood his ground, his internal energy churning and his hands dancing with lethal force. He didn't need to exert too much vital energy; a mere thousand calories of power was enough to make the resulting force incredibly potent. Under his control, the energy swirling around his palms grew denser, forming massive palm imprints that he blasted outward.

"Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"

The thunderous, clear explosions resounded through the entire cave.

Wherever the energy-infused palm prints passed, no roaring orc could manage to lunge forward. Without exception, they were either blasted to pieces on the spot or sent flying by the terrifying force, slamming into the walls to explode in a mist of blood and die instantly, or crashing into their companions behind them, sending several of them spiraling into the air, coughing up blood as their bones shattered mid-flight.

The dust on the ground was whipped up by the turbulent energy, filling the air.

[Vitality +181]
[Vitality +162]
[Vitality +179]
[Vitality +182]
[Vitality +160]
...

The recovery notifications flashed rapidly in his mind. In less than half a minute, every orc that had entered the cave was dead, leaving behind a floor littered with mutilated corpses lying in pools of blood.

*Huff.*

Exhaling, Tang Mubai ceased his cultivation, retrieved the Flame Bone Blade, and walked among the piles of corpses.

Ensuring no orcs remained alive, he headed toward the exit. He followed the dim tunnel step by step until he emerged outside, just as the first light of dawn began to touch the horizon.

Outside the cave lay a forest. Before the day had fully broken, the surroundings were silent, with the hazy woods and dark corners seeming to harbor ghosts. Tang Mubai sharpened his hearing, listening to the environment. No fierce beasts or wild animals lived nearby; not even a single bird could be heard.

*Swish!*

With a light push, he vaulted into the air.

Hovering aloft, he looked down and realized the cave was located halfway up a large mountain. The peak was barren, devoid of trees, but a fortress had been erected there. It featured wooden fences, cabins, and a water reservoir. Even from this distance, the architectural style exuded an aura of primitive, brutal, and bloody savagery.

An orc tribe!

There was no doubt that this settlement was a gathering place for orcs. Tang Mubai had seen photos of similar sites; almost every orc tribe’s settlement was like this. For tens of thousands of years, there had never been any significant change. Though orcs looked exactly like humans when not transformed, their dominant bestial nature meant they preferred destruction and indulgence over creation.

Yue Shengke had colluded with them, attempting to turn orcs into humans. The orcs likely hadn't resisted; instead, they were happy to cooperate with the experiments, because any orc that had visited a human city wanted to stay there.

By becoming human, they would no longer have any worries.

Unfortunately, Luo Lianxin did not yet possess the ability to alter species genetics.

Looking down at the entire orc tribe for a moment, Tang Mubai sensed no danger from his sixth sense. He descended rapidly, holding the Flame Bone Blade, and aimed it at a row of wooden huts.

"Whoosh-boom!"

The fiery blade energy descended from the sky, detonating the huts and setting them ablaze as they collapsed.

*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*

Without pause, Tang Mubai shifted positions, continuing to unleash waves of flame to ignite every cabin in the settlement. By the time dawn broke, the mountaintop was engulfed in roaring flames.

The sleeping orcs screamed and roared, running about in panic. Some were covered in fire, others rolled on the ground, and some scrambled toward the water reservoir. Screams, cries, roars, and shouts echoed across the peak.

Tang Mubai landed, walking through the smoke-filled settlement with his blade in hand, striking down any orc he encountered.

He stopped instinctively when he passed a fence and saw five men inside, wearing ordinary clothes, either leaning against the walls or lying on the ground, motionless.

Three of the men had dull, vacant eyes; though their limbs were intact, they drooled like idiots. Of the other two, one was missing all four limbs, leaving only his torso, and lay on the ground coughing incessantly. The last one had only his right arm remaining, leaning his torso against the corner of the wall with a numb face and hollow eyes.

Unknown herbs had been applied to their stumps, and the mangled flesh had dried into a crust.

Tang Mubai looked at them, and for no apparent reason, his heart felt stifled and heavy.

"Are... are you human?"

Tang Mubai spoke, his voice dry and nearly raspy.

The sudden question caused the man with only a torso, who had been coughing incessantly, to fall silent. A moment later, he struggled to turn his body to look outside.

At the first sight of Tang Mubai, his pupils dilated. Using his remaining strength, he trembled and cried out in a voice filled with agitation and ecstasy, "Little... little brother, you... you’re a human, right? You’re a human, aren't you?"

"...Yes."

Tang Mubai nodded, his voice low. "Are you mercenaries captured by the orcs?"

"Hahaha..."

The man with only a torso didn't answer, instead laughing loudly. "Good, good, that’s great! Little brother, quick, kill me! Give me a quick end, let me die, let me die!"
