Chapter 150: The Second Prince's Secret Decree
There was quite a substantial haul of spoils this time, with a series of notifications already gathered and organized by the game perks.
Due to the massive radius of the explosion, aside from the main key figures, a large number of Royal Knights' mirror duplicates had also perished. Even with the debuff from level differences, Chu Yun still reaped a considerable amount of experience points and skills.
[Accumulated Class Experience Points: 5,894]
[Accumulated Basic Ability: Riding x8]
[Accumulated Class Traits: Polearm Mastery x5, Two-Handed Sword Mastery x6, Greatbow Mastery x5]
[Reminder: Accumulated Polearm Masteries have been upgraded to "Polearm Master", Two-Handed Sword Masteries upgraded to "Two-Handed Sword Master", and Greatbow Masteries upgraded to "Archery Master"]
[Acquired Skills: Tier 1 Knight Charge, Tier 1 Cross Slash, Tier 2 Lance Thrust, Tier 2 Triple Arrow]
Aside from a significant amount of experience points dropped from this explosion, it was a pity that the Dragon Knight and the First Prince only dropped experience points without yielding any interesting items.
The nearly six thousand experience points also allowed Chu Yun's level to increase by another two levels.
[Planeswalker Class Level increased to Lv18 (631/3400)]
[Health Points +11]
[Mental Energy +27]
[Skill Points +59]
[Class level reached Lv17. As a Planeswalker, you will randomly acquire class skills from a random multiverse corresponding to your level.]
[Acquired Tier 2 Spell: "Charm Person"]
[Acquired Tier 2 Spell: "Elemental Destruction"]
[Charm Person]
Tier: Tier 2 Charm
Casting Time: 4 actions
Range: Sensory range
Spell Components: Verbal, Somatic
Duration: X hours, where X = difference in Intelligence attributes
Spell Effect: Charms the target, turning them into your servant who obeys your commands. Success rate is related to Charisma value and the target's Willpower.
Spell Description: When used on a male humanoid creature, the duration is halved. Initiating face-to-face increases the success rate.
[Fireball]
Tier: Tier 2 Evocation
Casting Time: 3 actions
Range: 30 meters
Spell Components: Verbal, Somatic
Duration: Instantaneous
Spell Effect: Launches a fireball to attack, dealing 10-20 points of explosive damage to the target and causing lingering fire damage to the surroundings.
Spell Description: Increasing mental energy consumption can enlarge the size and temperature of the fireball. Each additional point of mental energy increases damage by 1 point, up to a maximum not exceeding X points, where X = Intelligence attribute.
Both of these spells were extremely practical: one was a mental-type charm spell, and the other was a fireball spell with immensely powerful burst capability.
Although Flame Spears could be cast in multiples by increasing consumption, the power of each individual spear remained constant.
The Fireball spell directly increased the spell's potency by investing mental energy, offering a distinct advantage in breaking through the defenses of heavily armored enemies. Moreover, the area-of-effect damage after the explosion could also be used to deal with groups of targets, making it the signature skill of fire-attribute mages.
After reviewing the spells, Chu Yun turned his attention to this camp blessing.
[Class level reached Lv18, acquired "Lifestyle Gamer" growth blessing! Hold fast to your convictions, toward the stars and the abyss!]
[Acquired Camp Blessing "Lifestyle Gamer": Crafting spell scrolls, alchemical potions, magic equipment, etc., will be aided by blueprints.]
[Reminder: The Lifestyle Gamer perk and the Gamer perk co-exist and have been automatically merged into the "Professional Gamer" perk.]
This blessing was quite decent. Camp blessings were related to Chu Yun's prayers during each meditation session. Lately, he had wanted to craft scroll equipment, and to his surprise, he actually received this exact blessing. It was far more reliable than prayers reliant on gacha draws.
Including the previously saved ones, he now had a total of 68 skill points. Chu Yun first spent 39 points to elevate Lv19 Meditation to Lv21. This was the highest level achievable at his current tier, and it also marked the entry of his meditation ability into Tier 3. The effects of the meditation ability were also enhanced.
[Intermediate Meditation: Restores X points of mental energy per hour, where X = Meditation level + Mental Energy x 0.2. Cannot meditate in the Mirror World.]
His original meditation restored Meditation Level + Mental Energy x 0.1 per hour. Given his current level and mental energy, it only restored 18 + 26 = 44 points of mental energy per hour, which meant it would take six hours to fully recover his mental energy upper limit of 262 points.
The upgraded meditation was now renamed Intermediate Meditation, allowing Chu Yun to recover 70 points of mental energy per hour, requiring just over three hours for a full recovery. Efficiency was boosted by about 40%!
The meditation skill was temporarily sufficient for now. Considering he would soon be researching magical items, Chu Yun invested the remaining skill points into his Inscription ability. He spent 21 points to raise Inscription from Lv6 to Lv9, leaving the remaining 8 skill points untouched for the time being.
---
Chu Yun quickly settled his leveling matters; at this time, Leotis had not yet gone far.
Since the First Prince's mirror duplicate had already been blown to death by Chu Yun, he could now boldly approach the vicinity of the target's translucent mirror duplicate.
There were many shield-bearing soldiers around the First Prince. Most of these shields were steel shields with smooth surfaces and excellent reflective properties—making them perfect mediums for Chu Yun to launch attacks.
Because Chu Yun had activated the Invisibility Ring, his presence could not be seen in the reflective surfaces of the shields, allowing him to launch attacks without any scruples.
"This position is just right. Let me test out the new spell." Chu Yun opened a narrow mirror channel on the shield. In the sunlight, the channel was inconspicuous, looking entirely like a mere glare that no one would notice.
The incantation began to chant, and Chu Yun targeted the guard holding a greatsword behind the First Prince, casting Charm Person.
That guard failed to resist Chu Yun's charm and was quickly brought under control. The people nearby cast puzzled glances at the guard, who was rubbing his head. The guard reacted under the command of Chu Yun's Message spell.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing much. Just didn't rest well last night, and with the sun so bright today, I feel a bit dizzy."
His companion didn't pay too much mind, told him to drink more water, and asked no further questions.
This controlled guard did not rush to launch an attack. Instead, when the First Prince began to move and prepare to leave the area, he first pretended to fall behind before quickening his pace to follow him.
This acceleration brought him closer to the First Prince than usual, yet the other guards around didn't pay it much mind.
At that exact moment, the controlled guard suddenly drew his greatsword and, amidst the horrified gazes of everyone present, slashed down toward the First Prince's head.
"Clang!"
As the First Prince of royal blood, he carried quite a bit of protective equipment on his person.
The greatsword's strike was blocked by a protective barrier, but he still frantically continued to attack the First Prince, shouting at the top of his lungs: "Secret orders from the Second Prince: the First Prince intends to commit treason! Everyone, join me in slaying the First Prince! A hundred thousand gold bounty and the title of Count!"
Upon hearing these words, the First Prince felt like vomiting blood, and the movements of the surrounding guards involuntarily slowed by half a beat.
In that brief span of time, Chu Yun had already completed the casting of the Fireball spell. A massive fireball erupted from the shield-bearing guard's shield and hurtled straight toward the First Prince.
"Could it be true?" Seeing two guards successively turn traitor, the remaining men froze in place.
"Boom!"
