Chapter 19: Consecutive Draws

After spending some time drawing from the red section of the Goblin Spin Wheel, Li Rui proceeded to summon the remaining three goblin lottery wheels. To his surprise, the wheels had undergone significant changes. The red section had shrunk from 90% to 60%, while the gray and blue sections expanded to about 30% and 10%, respectively.

Spinning these three goblin wheels, Li Rui drew red, blue, and gray once each. He had initially thought there would be nothing left to draw from the red section, yet unexpectedly, a small orb appeared there. The red draw yielded a "Lesser Vital Energy."

Lesser Vital Energy: Upon use, it dispels a small amount of physical fatigue and slightly accelerates wound healing. (This item can only be used once and will disappear after activation.)

The blue draw was "Lesser Soul Energy."

After obtaining these two items, Li Rui immediately used them. The large orb surely contained the goblin’s most profound memory, but what deep memories could a goblin possibly have? Which fruit tasted best? The first time it ate bloody meat?

In any case, it wouldn’t be anything useful.

Although memories drawn from the gray section wouldn’t implant themselves directly into his mind but would instead be experienced like watching a book or film in a flash—so there was no risk of contamination—Li Rui had no interest in learning about a goblin’s preferences. Memories that were less significant to goblins might bring him some surprise.

After crawling out of the sac, the goblin grabbed the fallen mushroom and brought it to its mouth...

The scene ended there. Only a moment passed in the real world, yet Li Rui had witnessed the goblin’s birth memory in full.

“So they really do grow from beneath mushrooms. Interesting.” Although the spore reproduction entry previously mentioned that new life grows from beneath mushrooms, seeing a visual representation was an entirely different experience.

“This means that goblins’ reproductive capacity isn’t particularly strong. While they continuously spread spores, mushrooms tall enough to reach half a meter are scarce.”

At least the humans here, upon spotting mushrooms, deliberately destroyed them to crush goblin embryos before they could hatch. Paul’s squad of four was doing exactly that.

After wiping out all the goblins, they called on Li Rui to search the area for every mushroom and stomp them underfoot. Once the cleanup was complete, they began harvesting goblin ears.

Goblin ears were quite valuable. After all, killing goblins required traversing desolate, monster-infested forests and risking one’s life in battle, so if the price were low, no one would bother with the business.

Each goblin, whether adult, juvenile, or still inside the mushroom embryo, had a left ear worth three gold coins. In some places, when goblins were rampant, the price could even rise to five gold coins.

Converted to pre-crossing Chinese yuan, that ranged roughly from 600 to 1,000 yuan per ear. However, since production in the Endi world lagged behind Earth, the overall purchasing power of the currency was lower than Earth’s equivalent.

During the goblin fight, Li Rui was slow to strike, killing only two goblins himself. The other three heads were from goblins already heavily wounded by others, so when dividing the ears afterward, he only received the two corresponding to his kills.

Fairness was the foundation of their team’s existence. Li Rui had no complaints about this distribution but made one small request.

“If we encounter more monsters, could I be the one to deliver the final blow after they’re heavily injured? Of course, whoever knocks them down keeps the loot.”

Paul’s squad didn’t quite understand this unusual request but sensed there was a reason—a reason Li Rui was unwilling to share—so they agreed.

They didn’t understand but respected his wishes. After all, it was no big deal.

Thus, during the final stretch leaving the forest, Li Rui gained two more entries:

Control Body Fluid: You can control the flow of your bodily fluids and make them perform certain special actions. The maximum weight of the controlled fluids cannot exceed ten times your body weight. Once the fluids separate from your body, you immediately lose control over them. (This entry requires cooperation with Colloidal Fluid to function.)

The Lesser Vital Energy came from a lone goblin, and the Control Body Fluid ability was drawn from a slime.

On the slime’s spin wheel, the red section occupied 99%, the gray section less than 1%, and the blue section was nearly invisible.

There were only two orbs in the prize pool; Li Rui had previously obtained the Colloidal Fluid ability, and now with the Control Body Fluid ability drawn, the slime’s wheel lost all special functions.

From then on, the slime’s spin wheel resembled the goblin’s, featuring only three options: Lesser Vital Energy, Lesser Soul Energy, and some memories.
