By the end of dinner, Su Yitong still did not reveal that she was a player. Instead, she agreed to tell them as soon as she received any news, and asked Yu Xunge to notify her if she entered the game again. She still had to hurry back and arrange the Su family’s defense systems. Her attributes had decreased by another point recently. Her elder brother said it might only be temporary, a result of the game’s instability, but she did not think so. Otherwise, why had neither of those two brothers lost any attribute points?

After seeing Su Yitong into the car, Yu Xunhuan returned to the private room, his expression slightly cold.

“What’s wrong?” Yu Xunge asked with concern.

Yu Xunhuan shook his head and said quietly, “She’s definitely a player. She’s hiding it from us.”

“How can you tell?” Yu Qingshan asked. “Do you have proof?”

Yu Xunhuan pursed his lips. “Her ear was injured. Her entire right ear was gone. She still had it on the sixth, but when we met again on the fourteenth, she had changed her hairstyle. There was no bandage, and she hadn’t applied any medicine. She most likely used something from the game. Doesn’t that healing potion repair wounds after you drink it?”

Yu Xunge spread her hands. “I only had that one bottle, and I gave it to you. I’ve never drunk one myself.”

Yu Xunhuan sighed helplessly. “Why didn’t you buy a few more?”

As he said this, he marveled inwardly that he had truly begun to regard Yu Xunge as one of his own.

Fuck you! Did you hear me?! Fuck you! Believe me, I’ll find someone to cut off half of it again and leave you with only four and a half centimeters.

Yu Xunge maintained her smile and angrily drained a glass of cola.

After dealing with Su Yitong and Yu Xunhuan, Yu Xunge was in no hurry to return to the villa to study. Su Yitong’s glasses had given her an overwhelming sense of danger today.

The Soros Mask could no longer make her feel safe, even though, at present, no item below S-rank could see through the information altered by the mask.

But what if?

What if someone had been lucky enough to obtain an S-rank detection item during the very first beta test?

Rationally, she knew it was impossible. The finest detection item she had ever seen in her previous life had only been A-rank, the same rank as the Soros Glasses. But she did not dare to gamble. The thought that someone might detect her talents left her restless and on edge.

Weren’t detection items and equipment supposed to be rare? How had Liang Yuchuan managed to acquire an A-rank one during his first beta test, while Su Yitong had obtained another detection item of unknown rank during her second?

She could hardly bear to imagine someone using an S-rank detection item on her, only for her personal status screen to light up above her head the next second. One glance, and they would see that the number of God-given talents she possessed was nearly equal to the number of her attributes.

Yu Xunge remained awake until midnight. She simply could not fall asleep.

She got up and began packing her luggage instead.

She decided to seek out the male lead’s third woman tomorrow and test her luck. The Soros Mask was with the official wife, the glasses were with the second woman, and perhaps the final component was with the youngest one.

Naturally, she knew the male lead’s little wife. Her only disadvantage was that she had appeared late; in terms of power, she was no weaker than the Su or Liang families. The Han family’s influence lay in B City. In the second year after the game invasion, the Han family was jointly driven out of B City by several other families and forced to retreat to S City, where they had made preparations long ago.

Sometimes Yu Xunge wanted to ask whether S City was a recycling center. Why did everyone simply move there whenever they were driven out?

But dawn had not yet come, and she had not made today’s coins since returning. She simply transformed into a goblin, created the day’s three coins, and then went invisible beneath Su Yitong’s bed.

Well, no one was there.

She searched around for a while before deciding that the two Su brothers would do as well. A thief never left empty-handed.

She had grown remarkably bold lately. After discovering that the Su family’s revealing potion was only a beginner-grade one, she would occasionally drink an advanced invisibility potion and wander freely around the Su residence.

She turned into the corridor leading to the floor where the two brothers lived. It was not as though she had never considered stealing from them before, but one was a domineering corporate heir and the other an athlete, so neither was usually home. Today, however, the second brother, Su Jinxuan, happened to be there. It was the first time she had seen him at home since the second beta test.

In her previous life, Su Jinxuan had followed the path of an archer. Even before the game invasion, he had been a top-level archer and athlete. After the game became reality, he had become the Su family’s strongest fighter in barely a month.

How could a live-in son-in-law protagonist lack someone to bully him?

Su Jinxuan was the person in the Su family who most enjoyed tormenting the male lead, taking every opportunity to put him in his place.

Romance novels had vicious sisters-in-law. Live-in son-in-law novels had vicious brothers-in-law.

Before the wedding, he could still maintain basic courtesy. After the wedding, he found the man more irritating the longer he looked at him.

But the male lead had the female lead protecting him. Sometimes Su Jinxuan could not go too far, so he turned his hostility on Yu Xunge instead.

Yu Xunhuan would occasionally bring Yu Xunge along to the Su family’s group raids, supposedly to repay his sister. But lately, Yu Xunge increasingly felt that he was pushing her forward to draw fire for him.

During battles, Su Jinxuan would make her go ahead and lure the monsters. Sometimes he would even deliberately miss with his arrows, firing so slowly that anyone could easily dodge them—or so it appeared. In reality, she would be wounded by a monster while trying to evade the arrow.

It was not as though she had no temper. In her previous life, after every group raid, she would tell Yu Xunhuan not to call her next time. Even if the Su family distributed materials and equipment according to contribution, and even if many of those things were precious, she could manage without them if she simply spent more time.

Whenever that happened, Yu Xunhuan would give her the share of the spoils he had received and apologize, saying that he had only wanted to help his sister, that he desperately wanted to have family around him, and so on. Then he would complain to her about Su Jinxuan, sometimes discussing Su Jinxuan’s skills and personality and advising her to avoid him.

At the time, Yu Xunge had felt both touched and helpless. But more than anything, she had been angry.

You were the one being mistreated, and you still wanted me to suffer along with you? Were you the one marrying into the family, or was I?

But now that she had seen through Yu Xunhuan’s true nature and reconsidered those strange behaviors, she could not help wondering whether he had been trying to provoke her hatred of Su Jinxuan, guide her into playing his role, and eventually replace him.

Later, after discovering that she had not followed his lead, he stopped bringing her to the Su family’s activities.

Wait. Could the conflicts between her and the Liang and Han families also have been provoked by Yu Xunhuan?

Damn it, if that was really the case, why hadn’t he simply told her?!

She did not take the initiative to harm people, but she had no moral bottom line either. If he had explained it and persuaded her a little, wouldn’t she have agreed?

The more Yu Xunge thought about it as she watched Su Jinxuan lying on the bed, the angrier she became.

She had no intention of sleeping tonight. After dealing with Su Jinxuan, she would go check on Liang Yuchuan, then return home and drive straight to the airport.

After stealing for more than an hour, she had taken three points of agility and one point of intelligence from Su Jinxuan. Satisfied, she stopped.

Her agility alone was already comparable to that of a level-two player who had put every point into agility.
