After Lin Yilin sent several of the studio’s young men to keep an eye on Teng Jun’s residence, she left with Zheng Fan.

“There really are all kinds of illusions. But why don’t the things I make by kneading fantasies have effects like that?” Zheng Fan muttered on the way back.

He had already let Toast bite so many people, yet no one had managed to establish a connection with him through it.

“When I first learned that you could create objects of fantasy, Mr. Illusion, I also assumed you were a bait-spreading type of illusion. But I later changed my mind,” Lin Yilin said.

Zheng Fan looked at her, waiting for her to continue.

“Although Toast, the coffee machine, and the others were all created by you, they aren’t your accessories. They are truly independent entities. Toast in particular possesses an exceptionally strong sense of autonomy. By contrast, the bait scattered by a bait-spreading illusion is fundamentally connected to the illusion itself and cannot be considered an independent existence.”

Lin Yilin continued, “If that kind of illusion were to perish, the fantasy objects it scattered would have difficulty maintaining themselves. Either their effects would be greatly weakened, or they would disappear along with it. But even if you vanished one day, Mr. Illusion, Toast and the others wouldn’t disappear with you.”

“Huh?” Zheng Fan blinked. “Should I be happy or sad about that?”

Lin Yilin looked at him. “Are you the sort of person who would want to take something with you after death, Mr. Illusion? Like an ancient emperor?”

“Of course I’d want to take something with me. Though I wouldn’t go as far as an emperor. At most, I’d set off one very conspicuous firework for everyone.”

Zheng Fan lifted his head toward the sky.

“You really mean an ordinary firework, right?”

“Heh. Hard to say.” Zheng Fan gave a somewhat sinister smile.

When they returned to the agency, Lin Yilin retrieved something from inside and then left immediately.

It was a peaceful night.

Still, Zheng Fan had not been particularly bored lately. Ever since obtaining Cheng Fei’s body, he and Toast had found a new way to pass the evenings.

The red threads pierced through Cheng Fei’s body, propping it upright like a puppet controlled by strings.

“Grrr!” Little Toast stood ready for battle.

“Where did we leave off last night? Ah, yes—how to attack the vital points of a human body. You’re already perfect, but you still need to become even more perfect. You’re still too careless when biting people. Because of your small size, anyone who gets the chance can easily subdue you!” Zheng Fan taught earnestly.

“Grrr!”

“There are many vital points on the human body. I already pointed them all out to you yesterday. But some places aren’t vital points, yet as secondary targets, successfully attacking them can greatly hinder a person’s movements. Take a look. Which place do you prefer biting?”

“Grrr!”

Toast pointed at Cheng Fei’s backside with one tiny paw.

“The butt isn’t exactly an optimal choice, but it’s rich in fat, tender, and juicy. Taking a bite there would indeed bring a strong sense of satisfaction,” Zheng Fan said, stroking his chin.

Toast nodded. Though it was impossible to tell which part of a slice of toast was actually its head, somehow it was obvious that it had nodded.

“For human males—yes, humans with bodies roughly like mine—this is a particularly foolish species. They have a secondary danger zone that remains exposed all year round, yet they believe a few thin layers of clothing are enough to cover it.”

Zheng Fan’s gaze grew solemn.

“Grrr?”

“That’s right. As expected of Perfect Toast—you’ve already guessed it. I’m talking about a man’s hot dog!”

“Grrr~”

“What? You’re getting picky now? You don’t mind biting the butt, but you mind biting this?” Zheng Fan angrily rubbed Toast’s head.

“Grrr?”

“Women are foolish too. Do you think they’re safe simply because they don’t have an exposed organ down there? Not at all. That’s only an illusion. The corresponding spot is just as vulnerable, and a heavy blow can still easily destroy them!”

Zheng Fan clenched one fist, his tone heroic.

“Grrr.” Toast had no desire to attack anyone’s crotch, all right?

And why was Boss Fan becoming more and more impassioned while discussing such vulgar topics?

It really didn’t seem as satisfying as biting the butt.

“Tsk. Toast has finally reached its rebellious phase,” Zheng Fan clicked his tongue.

Next came the practical demonstration. Zheng Fan manipulated Cheng Fei with the red threads, making the body engage in a fierce battle with Toast inside the agency.

The scene was extremely bloody. Toast’s aggressiveness was beyond question, and with Zheng Fan’s questionable control skills, Cheng Fei was bitten until he was thoroughly disoriented.

It felt like a replay of the night the real Cheng Fei had died.

Looking at the two halves of the bitten-off buttocks that Toast had disdainfully spat onto the floor, Zheng Fan said, “With that kind of strength, you could bite anywhere and it wouldn’t matter.”

“Grrr?” How was Boss Fan planning to clean up this mess?

“Just wipe it up with yourself,” Zheng Fan replied.

The miraculous uses of Perfect Toast: its body absorbed foreign substances with astonishing speed, and its absorption capacity was excellent as well. Any stain vanished with a single wipe!

It was practically a perfect rag.

“Grrr!” Toast sprang forward, trying to escape, but Zheng Fan caught it with one hand, slammed it onto the floor, and began rubbing vigorously.

He then stuck the two bitten-off halves back in place, reached his hand into Cheng Fei’s body, and regenerated him. With that, the chaotic mess was considered cleaned up.

Toast curled up in a corner and glared at Zheng Fan, brimming with resentment.

“Stop sulking. Here, it’s about time I changed your desiccant.” Zheng Fan took out a packet of desiccant. He had created it with his wealth ability from the packet left over after eating a packaged cake.

The weather had been damp lately. Toast absorbed other substances quickly, but somehow it still ended up becoming moist. Why was that?

There was no need for you to understand every detail about Perfect Toast.

As Toast struggled with all its might and refused to cooperate, Zheng Fan pulled its backside apart and stuffed the desiccant inside, much like inserting a suppository into a girlfriend suffering from hemorrhoids. Toast’s struggles and howls were particularly violent.

What? Why put it in from behind?

There was no special reason. Zheng Fan simply wanted to do it that way.

After the commotion finally ended, Toast fell into a deep sleep. Zheng Fan gently patted its body and hummed a lullaby beside it, soothing its emotions.

At the same time, he wondered whether he should go and play with Jiang Si tonight, after such a long absence. Ever since that late-night snack incident, the girl had developed a strong subjective resistance to letting him use her body.

She had even learned to conceal her superficial thoughts in order to reduce the effectiveness of Zheng Fan’s remote sensing. Although Zheng Fan could still easily see through her when he made the effort, his attention was often distracted by how close he had been growing to Miss Lin Yilin, and he would occasionally overlook it.

Only at times like this could he truly appreciate that the little zombie really was the extraordinary genius Lin Yilin had described.

Hmm?

Zheng Fan froze.

Jiang Si’s presence was surprisingly close. When had she returned to Xixikeke?

Knock, knock!

The agency’s door was knocked.

Before long, the lock began to rattle. After only a few quick movements, the door was easily picked open.

“I told Lin Yilin a long time ago that we should replace the lock with a better one…” Zheng Fan muttered to himself.

The door was slowly pushed open. Jiang Si stood outside in a black sailor-style school uniform, a vivid red tie knotted at her chest. Her black thigh-high stockings had a few small tears, but they did nothing to detract from the beautiful contours they outlined.

Jiang Si stood in the doorway. “Long time no see. Since it seemed that Mr. Devil had forgotten about me, I came to find you myself… Uh, did I come at a bad time?”

Jiang Si looked at the agency’s living room, where a man lay sprawled on the floor. His clothes were in tatters, particularly around the backside, revealing a powerful and well-defined shape.

It was a very healthy-looking butt.

Gasp—the reason Mr. Devil was so merciless toward a beautiful girl was actually…?!
