Chapter 8: Hunting Time (Part One)

Scout first, act later.
In the second round, resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
This was a habit cultivated by Mo Yu after developing his abilities.
During the initial reconnaissance, he had always been reckless, relying on his formidable physical strength—if something could be solved with force, he never wasted words.
Many of the villas here had bodyguards, some even equipped with rifles and shotguns.
He bypassed these tough obstacles.
He picked the smallest villa on the outermost edge.
All he wanted was to grab some weapons, a car, and a phone.
“FBI! OPEN THE DOOR!”
Mo Yu broke in.
The stench inside nearly overwhelmed him.
The smell of alcohol, perfume, feces, and urine was mixed with various strange odors.
It was practically a bomb of scents.
Pinching his nose, he moved forward.
The hall was littered with numerous half-naked men and women sprawled out in every direction, their bodies exposed.
Trash, food scraps, empty bottles, cigarette butts, and syringes were scattered everywhere; the walls were smeared with unidentified yellowish-white substances.
These people were in a deep sleep, snoring loudly, unable to wake even after being slapped.
Mo Yu punched his way through and eventually woke a fat man.
The fat man roared furiously, mouth wide open.
Mo Yu shoved the silencer barrel into his mouth, threatening, “Answer my questions, no nonsense.”
The fat man sobered a bit and quickly nodded; Mo Yu withdrew the gun barrel.
The fat man, still uncooperative, immediately said, “Brother, which path are you on? I…”
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Mo Yu turned his gun and blew the heads off several sleeping people.
The fat man immediately wet himself, the stream spraying high; if not for Mo Yu’s quick reflexes, he would have been hit by the splash.
Trembling in fear, the fat man tried to suppress the mess, stammering, “Big brother, don’t kill me! Let’s talk! My father is Councilman Rosen! Whatever you want, I’ll agree!”
“Where are the weapons? Where’s the phone? Where are the car keys?”
Mo Yu pressed for the items he wanted.
The fat man cooperated fully.
Intelligence gathering complete.
Rewind!
Back to before breaking the door.
Mo Yu circled to the back of the house and climbed in through a window.
Five minutes later, the villa’s garage door opened, and a modified sports car roared out, speeding down the road.
In the trunk were two rifles, two sniper rifles, one shotgun, an automatic pistol, bullets, several grenades—all brand new models.
The villa’s owner was a wealthy playboy.
This was his villa for keeping mistresses; the weapons and vehicles were his collection.
Now, they were cheap gains for Mo Yu.
With the key weapons and car in hand, he could launch his killing plan against the Human-Head Spiders.
Mo Yu headed straight to the Star Guest Hotel, parked the car, donned sunglasses, grabbed the rifle case, and entered the hotel.
As soon as he entered, a red text alert appeared.
The seemingly beautiful receptionist had a Human-Head Spider indicator on her forehead, as did two bodyguards.
Mo Yu stepped forward. “I’m here for the event.”
The receptionist said, “Sir, the event hasn’t started yet. If you’re an invited guest, please show your invitation.”

“Forgot to bring it.”
“Sorry, without an invitation, early entry is not allowed.”
“Oh, do you sell beef here?”
“Uh… yes, sir, we do. If you need to dine, please…”
“I don’t eat beef.”
Mo Yu opened the case, took out a loaded rifle, and blew the receptionist’s head off.
Her skull shattered, revealing black-green spider fragments.
Staff screamed and scattered.
Bodyguards tried to draw their guns in resistance, but Mo Yu quickly turned his weapon and killed them before they could react.
His firearms skills were at a masterful level.
This was the system’s defined rank, comparable to elite SWAT in reality—at close range without cover, one shot per target.
Whistling and listening to music, Mo Yu carried his customized AK-series rifle, wandering the hotel to familiarize himself with the layout.
Whenever he spotted a Human-Head Spider or anyone resisting, he shot on the spot.
He even caught fifteen hotel management personnel in the elevator—eight of them were Human-Head Spiders.
After eliminating all the spiders, the rest behaved obediently.
They answered every question.
Security forces, surveillance coverage, power status, escape routes, keycards, the relationship with the Kissing Cult—all were gathered.
Intelligence collection was nearly complete.
Outside, piercing sirens sounded—security teams had arrived.
Mo Yu made his way to the rooftop.
More than a dozen police cars were parked outside.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, he spread his arms and leapt from the seven-story building.
Rewind!
Back to the time he parked the car.
This time, he did not act but reviewed the gathered intelligence quietly.
At 9:20 p.m., the scene outside grew lively.
Numerous vehicles and personnel poured in.
Mo Yu got out of the car, mingled with the crowd, disguised as someone interested in the cult, and smoothly infiltrated the Star Guest Hotel.
He didn’t speak to anyone—just quietly observed and noted the timings.
His interface clearly marked every Human-Head Spider.
All the cult’s upper echelon were present, hosting the event—most went to hotel rooms, a few held parties at the outdoor pool.
Everywhere he looked, couples were entwined in kissing.
Mo Yu observed everything clearly.
Three Human-Head Spiders led a woman into a room; twenty minutes later, they emerged, and a line of bloody characters appeared on the woman’s forehead.
[Harbors a Human-Head Spider larva inside.]
What exactly happened was unknown.
At 10:20 p.m., a large number of Human-Head Spiders gathered in the seventh-floor banquet hall.
At 10:30 p.m., the peak number of spiders at the outdoor pool reached 41, while over 170 others were scattered in hotel rooms engaged in parasitic activity.
No powerful individual was detected.
The parasitic infection was spreading rapidly.
By 11:50 p.m., the event showed no signs of ending.
With intelligence gathering complete and most spiders’ movements known, Mo Yu began tactical simulation and planned the next actions.
Rewind.
Back to parking.

This time, he went to a nearby district.
Ten minutes later.
At the hotel’s back door.
Mo Yu carried a ladder and slung a large toolbox over his shoulder, striding confidently inside.
Bodyguards and staff along the way smiled and nodded at him.
No security check was needed; he smoothly entered the hotel.
Such was the power of the ladder.
He strolled around the hotel, entered the restroom, and concealed the weapons-filled toolbox in a hidden corner before leaving.
He was pre-positioning weapons for rapid action after rewinding.
Back in the car, he took out two sniper rifles and went to find suitable sniper points nearby, requiring shooting angles covering the hotel’s outdoor pool.
Mo Yu continuously calculated and adjusted his battle plan.
Each mirrored action path, sequence, timing, and coverage relationship formed a complete plan in his mind.
This was his unique hunting style.
A moment later.
On the rooftop.
Mo Yu assembled his sniper rifle, positioned it at the edge, overlooking the large outdoor pool below.
Men and women were reveling.
Checking his phone time:
10:29 p.m.
He aimed at the first target.
A drunk Human-Head Spider lying in the corner.
Quietly waiting.
The moment the clock struck 10:30 p.m., he pulled the trigger.
Beep!
The spider’s head exploded, spider fragments scattering everywhere.
Mo Yu didn’t pause and opened fire rapidly.
He had already observed and locked onto targets, confirmed the kill order, just waiting for the moment to strike.
The crowd reacted slowly; most were locked in kissing and didn’t notice the sniping.
After killing 11 Human-Head Spiders, someone finally noticed the anomaly.
Chaos erupted.
Mo Yu emptied his magazine.
Twenty bullets, seventeen spiders.
When out of ammo, he rewound twenty minutes back.
At that moment, he was on the top floor of another building, having just set down the sniper case.
He generated a clone.
The clone turned and left, headed to another building, ready to fire the first shot precisely at 10:30 p.m.
Mo Yu assembled his sniper rifle.
This sniper point was on a high building east of the pool, offering a better shooting angle.
At 10:30 p.m., Mo Yu pulled the trigger.
Two Human-Head Spiders’ heads exploded.
He kept firing rapidly, picking off spiders one by one.
More died this time, and the crowd reacted quicker.
While the clone killed its eighth spider, Mo Yu himself eliminated the twelfth, the crowd noticed the anomaly, and chaos broke out.
