Chapter 48: Legendary Page Break
Page (1/3)
Bang! Crash!
The shuttle burst open like a shaken, pressurized bottle of cola. The door, blown off its hinges by the internal pressure, slammed against the wall and crashed onto the floor with a deafening roar.
Mo Yu, clutching two beautiful girls amidst a shower of expelled supplies, tumbled onto the ground.
"Station Director, welcome back."
Alpha's voice rang out.
Mo Yu scrambled to his feet and commanded, "Initiate the containment cells! Rename the station's main brain; from now on, you are Beta. Register Alpha as an independent entity, and synchronize linking is strictly prohibited without my authorization."
Clutching the two beauties and dragging Alpha along, he sprinted toward the containment cells. Inside lay the most advanced restriction technology available—no matter what kind of monster you were, once you went in, you had to lie low and behave.
After quite a commotion.
Inside the space station's containment sector.
Mo Yu stood in the corridor, holding a cup of coffee, pacing back and forth in the brightly lit hallway.
Three containment cells had been activated.
The containment chambers featured transparent floor-to-ceiling glass, offering an unobstructed view of the interior. From left to right, they held Iris, Alice, and Alpha respectively.
Alice and Alpha were unconscious.
Iris was pacing in circles inside her room; the one-way glass prevented her from seeing Mo Yu outside.
Containment successful.
Mo Yu relaxed.
"Beta, how long was I gone?"
"Twenty-seven hours, twenty-one minutes, and twenty-three seconds."
"Are the time dilation rates between the two sides out of sync?"
This was good news. It indirectly reduced the space station's supply requirements; whenever a spatial rift appeared, he could quickly acquire materials.
He took a sip of coffee, preparing to tackle the issues at hand.
There were simply too many things to deal with.
First, he checked his attribute panel.

Mo Yu opened the Monster Guide.

The basic section contained over a dozen types of monsters. Aside from vampires, they were mostly various minor monsters, but due to their scarcity, he had only managed to slay one or two of each, failing to earn trophies.
He opened the Legendary section.
There were two portraits.
One was of Iris.
The other was of Alice.
Opening them allowed for detailed information to be viewed. The entries were incomplete, and the intelligence required to fill them out differed.
[Name: Iris Dracula]
[Race: Vampire]
[Description: A masterpiece of the Sage of Infatuation, one of the Eight Sages. She is the perfect fusion of human and vampire, capable of transitioning between vampire and human forms. Every complete transformation resets her potential as a vampire, granting her infinite growth.]
[Current Life Stage: Third-evolution entity.]
[Current Attribute Evaluation: Physical Fitness 0.5 (23.1), Mental Strength 0.8 (6.2), Soul Quality 5.2]
[Special Ability: Blood Manipulation.]
[Remarks: This girl possesses the potential of a Great Emperor.]
[Card Collection Requirement: Please capture or slay Iris at different life stages.]
Below were five image fragments, arranged vertically. Four were black, while the second one was illuminated. In the image, Iris was wearing a school uniform, sitting in a chair with one hand supporting her chin, her legs crossed, and an icy expression on her face.
[Card Collection Reward]
[Gift of the Vampire Emperor (1/5): You acquire the physical constitution effects of a vampire.]
[Current Effects]
[1. Physical fitness receives a 5% boost.]
[2. Adaptively reduces the perception of pain. Energy (vitality, mana) can be consumed to accelerate wound healing, with the recovery rate scaling to your life stage.]
[Note: Unlocking puzzle pieces will enhance this effect and unlock new traits.]
Mo Yu touched his chin. The physical fitness bonus was percentage-based, which would become extremely powerful as his attributes grew.
This rapid recovery ability was a very neat minor skill for him. With his rewind ability, he usually let his mirror image take the damage, but having this skill gave him much more room for tactical maneuvering.
For instance, playing the wounded victim.
Mo Yu found a dagger to test his ability. He made a slash on his arm, feeling only a mild sting. In the past, this would have certainly made him wince and bare his teeth in agony.
Dulling the perception of pain was incredibly useful!
It allowed him to execute certain maneuvers recklessly without bearing the burden of pain and psychological pressure.
Mo Yu gave it a top score.
He activated his recovery ability.
The 1-centimeter wound healed at a visible rate. He continued to inflict cuts upon himself; now entirely devoid of fear, he even went so far as to snap his own arm, feeling only a dull ache.
Laceration-type wounds healed very quickly.
Severe injuries involving broken bones and torn muscles would recover basic mobility within roughly half an hour, and heal completely in an hour.
The cost, however, was steep.

Mo Yu glanced at the glass reflection beside him.
After a little over an hour of testing, his hair was now completely white—he had severely overdrawn his vitality, drastically shortening his lifespan.
This skill was definitely one that required mana to pay the price.
Rewinding to before the tests.
Mo Yu checked Alice's entry.
Upon opening the entry, the first thing that appeared was not descriptive text, but an image divided into eight sections by a grid pattern.
8 fragments.
Only one was illuminated, displaying Alice dressed in a Gothic dress, surrounded by roses, with her eyes full of pink little hearts.
Only by clicking on it could the description be viewed.
[Name: Alice]
[Race: Spirit Rabbit]
[Description: A sage of the Spirit Rabbit race, a powerful entity combining beauty, intellect, and strength. She is a fragment of a great sage, the Sage of Infatuation. She inherited most of her original master's components regarding love, biological research preferences, and lifeform manipulation abilities, mastering terrifying biotechnology that always manages to produce utterly horrifying creations.]
[Current Life Stage: Third-evolution entity.]
[Current Attribute Evaluation: Physical Fitness 3.1, Mental Strength 32.4, Soul Quality 11.2]
[Special Ability: Organic Matter Manipulation, Psychokinesis]
[Remarks: Yandere affection-obsessed brains are extremely dangerous, especially since she wields terrifying power. Being loved by her is both a wonderful thing and a terrifying one.]
No wonder Alice was so crazy about Iris, even willing to let him stab her.
He was even more curious about the Eight Sages.
The Sage of Infatuation had only inherited a portion of the Eight Sages; this description felt very strange, as if the Eight Sages had somehow torn themselves apart.
[Card Collection Reward]
[Offering Everything to You: Depending on the degree of her affection for you, the following effects can be obtained: 1. Mental strength boost, up to a limit of 20%. 2. Mental defense matching her level. 3. When fighting side-by-side, both parties receive an all-attribute boost capped at 50%, provided there are no other females around you; otherwise, it becomes invalid and may trigger her losing control. 4. You can replenish her mana. 5. She will die in your stead.]
[Current Effects]
[None.]
Mo Yu felt like he had been scammed.
This card collection reward was somewhat of a trap; it required grinding favorability, and right now, Alice probably hated his guts.
Whatever.
He would raise her for now. Serving as an emotional trash can and a force not to be trifled with wasn't bad either—plus, Alice's appearance fit his tastes perfectly.
Mo Yu opened his own attribute panel.
2 Ability Points.
He could finally upgrade his rewind ability.
