Chapter 43: Not Bad, Right?
"Wuwuwu, Boss, you died such a tragic death! Your little brother misses you so much!"
"Boss, oh Boss! Why did you have to leave just like that? How could you bear to abandon the three of us all alone and helpless?"
"Boss, the city is too chaotic right now, we have to leave, came to see you before we go..."...
Inside the cemetery.
Abu, Fat Rat, and Shell were crouching beside a new tombstone, crying bitterly while continuously chugging liquor.
Bang!
Suddenly, a figure rushed over, kicked the tombstone flying with a single strike, accompanied by a furious roar: "Who the hell set up a tombstone for me?!"
"My@#¥! How dare you touch my Boss's... Boss?!"
The trio were furious, jumping up to pick a fight, but upon recognizing the person before them, their attitude instantly flipped 180 degrees. They slid to their knees, grabbed Mo Yu's thighs, and burst into a messy torrent of tears and snot.
"Stop! Stop crying! Let go! Damn it! Don't wipe your snot on me!"...
Mo Yu exerted a great deal of effort to break free, and then stated the purpose of his visit: "I need an advanced magic cultivation method."
Abu asked with a puzzled expression, "Boss, aren't you an Awakener? Don't you need things related to Awakeners?"
"My ability has no combat power. I still need a better magic cultivation method to enhance my combat capability," Mo Yu replied.
Sequence abilities are extremely unique, exclusive to humans, with untraceable origins that manifest randomly in certain individuals. Elevating these abilities is extremely difficult because there are no clear advancement methods; everyone has to grope forward bit by bit based on predecessors' paths.
Mo Yu's sequence ability was unprecedented.
He didn't even have reference materials. Rather than wasting time exploring, it was better to leave the ability enhancement to the system panel and pour his energy into a magic cultivation method, which had a clear and established path.
Shell said, "Boss, the higher-ups of Rending Moon attach great importance to your ability. As long as you step forward, they will surely provide the best cultivation method available."
Mo Yu said, "No, I cannot show my face."
"Why?" *3
"Ahem, there are bad people in the organization, someone wants to kill me. The last operation was a case of someone using a borrowed knife to kill a person, you understand?"
"Understood!" *3
The trio wore expressions of sudden realization.
Mo Yu continued, "I am going into seclusion for a while. Help me get a magic cultivation method; I want to cultivate with utmost concentration. When I emerge from the mountains, I will lead you to reclaim everything we've lost!"
"Yes!" *3
The trio howled with excitement.
Mo Yu added his requirements: "I want a cultivation method that has high difficulty, where the slightest mistake could lead to deviation and madness, but once mastered, it becomes extremely powerful. Help me look for one. If there isn't any, then find one with high plasticity that makes it easy to transition to other cultivation methods later on..."
The trio memorized Mo Yu's requirements, chatted for a little longer, and immediately set out to take action.
The empty tombstone was hauled away.
This was something the trio had set up for Mo Yu; Rending Moon knew nothing about it.
Rewinding back, he let the mirror clone handle this matter.
Mo Yu lay flat in the apartment.
The crisis triggered by Alice was spreading; even on the other side of the city, gunshots and explosions could be heard.
The battle was extremely fierce.
Convoys on the streets were endless, and many crowds were evacuating. After lingering for a day, Elise decided to leave. She chose to head all the way north, leave Texas, go to a small state in the northernmost part of the Central Continent, and head to a place called Sandy Harbor.
Black City was already in chaos, making it unsuitable for keeping a low profile and biding one's time. Coupled with the invisible threat of Alice, Elise decided to find a new place to start over from scratch.
A few days later.
Sandy Harbor.
Mo Yu leaned against the railing, enjoying the sea view.
This was a very small seaside town, a quiet and peaceful place that seemed transcendent of the world. It featured pure golden beaches, crystal-clear water near the shore that gradually deepened into a cobalt blue blending with the horizon, where shimmering golden light floated on the sea surface and warm sunlight poured down.
The three of them had arrived here two days ago and were staying in a nearby inn, using the fake identities of college students on a trip.
Elise hadn't decided where to go next, so she chose to live in seclusion for a while to observe the outcome of Black City and see the Demon Hunters' stance on the matter.
The Central Continent maintained a tight blockade on information.
No intelligence about Black City could be found online; they could only gather very limited information through Elise's intelligence network.
Alpha crouched at Mo Yu's feet, occasionally bumping its dog head against his leg.
"Station Master, current timeline disturbance value: 19%, countdown to returning to the main timeline: 6 days, 11 hours, and 03 minutes."
"Time to start preparing."
Mo Yu muttered to himself.
He needed to collect supplies necessary for the space station, along with some simple tools.
These required money, so he simply asked the trio for it. The wealth acquired from wiping out the vampires was substantial and kept with the trio. Shopping had to be done behind Elise's back, which was quite simple since she currently paid him no mind and let him wander around the small town freely.
Just as Mo Yu was about to move, his phone rang.
Opening it, he saw a message from the maid:
"Come over and handle some trouble."
He put down his phone, looked into the distance at the beach, and spotted several local youths standing next to Elise and the maid, harassing them. The town was small and rarely saw outsiders. The sudden arrival of two beauties had attracted the attention of many.
Mo Yu clicked his tongue.
In order to keep his identity hidden, he still had to step in and solve this kind of nuisance.
Returning to his room to change clothes, he put on a flashy floral shirt and floral shorts, donned sunglasses, styled his hair in a more aggressive look, and headed toward the beach.
Upon getting closer, he pulled Elise into his arms, tested the elasticity limit of her upper hemisphere, and then said to the local youths:
"What do you guys want?"
"Bro, from out of town? Come hang out with us, we know this place really well."
Seeing the male companion appear, these youths showed no intention of giving up, their eyes practically glued to Elise and the maid.
Mo Yu let out an "oh," stepped forward, grabbed the youth who had spoken, hoisted him straight over his head, spun him around in the air a dozen times, and then drove him headfirst into the sand before asking, "Fun?"
"Sorry, to disturb!" *n
The group pulled out their dizzy companion and ran away at top speed.
After chasing away the harassers, Mo Yu turned around and said, "Done."
Elise's face was dark, her expression somewhat terrifying. The maid looked out at the sea, pretending to admire the scenery.
Mo Yu cautiously inquired:
"Eldest Miss, what's wrong?"
"Feels pretty good, doesn't it?"
"This... extremely good."
"Is that so? Want to touch more?"
"May I?"
"What do you think?"
Elise stepped closer, step by step.
Mo Yu turned and ran.
After a round of chasing and fleeing, Mo Yu was tackled to the beach, the two wrestling together. The final result was that Mo Yu ended up with several extra holes bitten into his arms and legs.
Elise really bit down hard.
The following days felt like a vacation.
The three of them went out to play every day, exploring around the town—beach volleyball, swimming, diving, fishing, and so on. They tried out all the seaside entertainment projects, no different from college students out on a trip.
During his leisure time, Mo Yu also used the excuse of learning the art of disguise from the maid, and the latter was willing to teach him.
He also used the rewind feature to synchronize actions and went to nearby cities to purchase and collect supplies.
Another day passed, and the trio sent feedback that they had found what he needed. Per Mo Yu's request, the trio packed up the items and sent them via expedited courier to a city 100 kilometers away from the town.
Mo Yu drove there himself to pick them up.
