Chapter 61 Wandering God, You Have Begun
"Zhu Kai's draft is actually pretty good this game; I approve of him."
In his bustling livestream, Lin Ruo continued to interact with the chat with a cheeky grin.
"If Snake wins, I'm going to get flamed. But what do you mean flamed? I've always had the neighbors' best interests at heart, you know. Don't go around inverting black and white."
"The only reason I criticized the draft was out of deep love and harsh critique, understand?"
As he spoke, the match had already begun. Both teams entered the Summoner's Rift, forming a straight snake-like formation with no intention of sparking any early conflicts.
Observing the jungling paths of both sides, Jiejie at the caster desk uttered a surprised sound, "SoFM chooses to start at the Raptors? Flandre even gave him a hand to help clear it."
What was even more unexpected was that Flandre, after returning to his lane to clear a wave of minions, didn't forget to step into the blue jungle to drop a ward and scout the enemy's movements.
"Is this... turning the top laner into a dog for the jungler?" Xiao Xiao blurted out without thinking.
Realizing what he just said, he quickly apologized, "Sorry, sorry, I forgot this was an official match."
"SoFM, I've done all I can. You're on your own now," Flandre said in the Snake voice comms. Zhu Kai had kept telling him before the match to help the jungler more, and he had certainly tried his best.
The Vietnamese player glanced over, still remaining silent. After finishing the red buff, he headed down to clear the blue.
Upon reaching level three, and after learning the enemy jungler's location, he once again marched toward the Raptors without a second thought.
He was determined to eat those six birds today.
To ensure nothing went wrong, SoFM finally spoke up, "Mid lane, cover me a bit. Cover me."
"Damn it, you really have your eyes glued to that flock of chickens, don't you?"
Zide's Taliyah pushed the wave slightly and edged closer to the jungle.
SoFM successfully devoured the Raptors. Standing by the brush, Kid could only look on and sigh in helplessness.
Returning to the jungle to happily devour a Gromp, the Vietnamese player wore a rare expression of sheer bliss and fulfillment, practically glowing with radiance.
After suffering through so many stifling games, he had finally washed away his past humiliation today.
The enemy's jungle smelled so sweet, and he wanted more.
Seeing this scene, Lin Ruo in front of his stream immediately delivered his verdict, "Once the Vietnamese player gets a taste of the Raptors, his whole attitude changes. Snake's got this game in the bag."
The chat was filled with skepticism.
[He eats one camp of Raptors and the game is won? You'd think the game time was only 3 minutes.]
[So what if you let him eat one? Is he going to fly?]
[I can't even. Is the streamer seriously forcing such cringey hype?]
"You guys just don't get it. Once the Vietnamese player dares to eat the first camp, he'll dare to eat the second. Practice makes perfect, and by the third time, he'll be farming the enemy like livestock."
Lin Ruo said with absolute certainty, "Kid has already been marked as easy prey. He's about to be in deep trouble."
At the fourth minute of the game, Kid caught out the Rumble in the top lane and forced his Flash.
Knowing the whereabouts of the Blind Lee, SoFM immediately stormed into the blue jungle, stole the Wolves for a snack, and dropped a ward on his way out.
"Mid lane, cover me."
"Damn it, you're calling on me again," Zide complained through grunts, but he still obediently pushed the wave and recalled, standing by in the spawning pool.
Seeing the Kha'Zix openly waltz into his jungle, Kid arrived at the Wolf camp shortly after, attempting to contest it.
"This SoFM is just too unreasonable. The top laner literally just got caught," PDD said in disbelief, having never witnessed anyone so arrogant.
It wasn't until a striking Teleport beam lit up that Zide, having just returned to the base, teleported directly to the Wolf camp.
That was when he finally understood the reason for the arrogance: the mid laner had been reduced to a dog too.
Sensing danger, Kid, who still wanted to contest, tried to make a run for it.
However, because he had burned his Flash earlier in the top lane, he ultimately failed to escape. Hunted down step by step by the Vietnamese bandit—who wanted his jungle and his life—he tragically died right outside the inner turret.
First Blood!
[Snake.SoFM has slain IG.Kid!]
Kid sat dazed in his seat, trying to process what had just transpired in the last minute.
The enemy mid laner teleported into his jungle just to steal his camps? Was that something a human being would do?
"It's fine, their mid laner missed minion XP," Rookie comforted him.
Kid barely managed to accept it, but the moment he respawned and stepped back into his jungle, he laid eyes on a grinding set of teeth eagerly devouring the freshly spawned Raptors.
The mid lane was still pushed in, meaning he still had no right to contest.
He was tilted—completely and utterly tilted.
"SoFM is playing like an absolute demon," Xiao Xiao said, dumbfounded.
Jiejie re-analyzed the situation, "Because of this, Zyra is forced to frequently enter the jungle to place vision and protect their jungler, which actually ends up impacting the bottom lane matchups."
"I told you guys earlier, IG's jungle was going to explode. The bandit doesn't care about human decency or mercy. I feel like a losing-his-mind Kid is about to be unleashed."
Lin Ruo leaned back, resting his head on his hands, holding forth in his livestream.
At the 10th minute, Rookie managed to find a rare opening to gank top, catching out the Rumble and destroying the outer turret to recoup some of their disadvantages.
At the same time, SoFM helped his teammates secure the outer turret in the bottom lane.
At the 11th minute, Rookie found another opening and caught out Lulu, single-handedly stabilizing the situation for IG.
God Rookie was still carrying the team on his back.
However, at the 13th minute, Kid delivered a counter-performance.
After camping in the top brush for ages, he finally waited for Ohq to come up and clear the minions, only to completely miss his Q and force a reckless engage, resulting in getting counter-killed and giving away another head.
Snake traded three for two.
At the 18th minute, the top and mid laners of both sides broke out into a teamfight in the bottom lane.
A sharp-eyed Kid immediately rushed over to assist.
Lin Ruo began his live commentary: "Kid is here! Is he going to enter the fight directly? Oh, he used Safeguard over the wall, trying to use the Blast Cone to flank and catch out the low-health Zide under the tower. He's bouncing up—ah, he clicked off-center and didn't make the jump!"
"Good grief, God Rookie is struggling bitterly down in the bottom lane, and he died without ever waiting for Kid."
Lin Ruo couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out laughing live on stream, "That's a bit comical, You Shen."
At the caster desk, Xiao Xiao clutched his head in despair, "Kid, what on earth are you doing this wave? Why are you just wandering around in the back? Both mid and top died because of you."
"Maybe he got lost," Jiejie said awkwardly.
In the Snake voice comms, Zide was the only one who noticed this scene. He pressed his lips tightly together, trying to recall every single tragic event in his life.
That was the only way he managed to restrain himself from mocking his former teammate.
Yet, much to his surprise, the main event was still yet to come.
With two members of the blue team down, Snake smoothly claimed the Baron.
The remaining IG members destroyed the mid tier-one turret to cut their losses.
"I can flank them for one wave."
Taking advantage of the enemy recalling to resupply, Kid, who had been lurking in the jungle, prepared to pull off a flank engage to save face.
Moving down from the Blue Buff along the wall, he spotted Ohq stepping out of the tower after returning to lane and buying items, and decisively walked out.
"Great opportunity, watch me," Kid yelled urgently in the comms.
"You Shen, are you going to prove yourself? Time for a Insec kick!" Xiao Xiao, as an IG veteran, straightened up, the scene already vividly playing out in his mind.
Ward-hop, Flash, kick—immaculately executed.
Yet in the actual match footage, the Underground Fist Fighter could be seen swinging his fists, charging forward with immense momentum.
Ohq startled and hastily backed away.
With a resolute expression, Kid pressed his ability, took a step forward, and placed a ward right beside the Ashe.
He chanted inwardly: *Watch my R-Flash.*
As the ward went out, however, Kid froze, staring blankly at his own feet.
Wait, no—why is this ward range a bit short? I can't reach!
"Uh, this..."
Xiao Xiao's expression crumbled, and he burst into roaring laughter, "Ahehubs, this ward placement was a bit delayed."
Realizing his lack of professionalism, he offered a second apology: "Ah, sorry, sorry, I laughed at the wrong thing, I'm sorry."
