Chapter 56 This Is Not Our Limit
The two commentators in the booth were equally stunned.
"How is it possible that Sivir got solo killed by Varus?"
Guan Zeyuan was baffled: "As long as you don’t engage first and focus on fast pushing the wave, something like this shouldn’t happen."
The director switched the camera to the bottom lane, where Sivir’s corpse lay sprawled inside the tower, while a low-health Varus nonchalantly cleared the minion wave under the outer turret.
"Did he dive the tower?" Remembered let out a surprised sound.
This made it all the more unbelievable.
This devastating news struck Snake like a thunderclap; the faint confidence their team had painstakingly built evaporated instantly.
Crystal’s face turned as dark as night. "Ohq, are you playing Snake?"
"Playing to death? Yeah, I got played to death," Ohq replied shamefully, lowering his head and fiddling with his hair.
The enemy AD was terrifying…
Amidst great anticipation, the director finally showed the replay.
At the 9-minute mark, Lin Ruo, having just purchased a Caulfield’s Warhammer and Serrated Dirk, pushed the minion wave under the Blue side’s tower.
Seeing Sivir using Q and W to clear minions, positioning a bit forward, he tried to cast his ultimate, Corrupting Chains.
Ohq reacted quickly, instantly casting his E for a spell shield to block the binding effect.
Lin Ruo used A and E to trade damage, triggered the Warlord’s Bloodlust keystone for a burst of speed, then retreated, staying just out of tower range, quickly turning back to land another auto attack before continuing his retreat.
After a painless harassment combo, Ohq finally realized the enemy’s intent to kill.
As his health dropped, he entered the tower, hoping to escape the poke range.
Lin Ruo followed in, landing two auto attacks; on the first tower shot, he activated heal and speed, then auto attacked twice more before instantly casting W and Q in succession, flashing forward to exit tower range.
Failing to anticipate Varus’s poke damage, Sivir was left at critical health, immediately using heal and ultimate.
Lin Ruo, also at critical health after taking three tower shots, charged his refreshed Q outside tower range. With precise judgment, he landed a long-range piercing Q that killed the writhing Sivir.
"He first stacked six plasma charges with autos, then WQ to detonate and refresh his Q, unleashing a double-Q burst that pierced through Sivir outside the tower," Guan Zeyuan explained in detail.
"Sivir’s flash was already forced out two minutes earlier in lane. This wave, in order to clear minions, she used her main damage skills, which got her hit under the tower unnecessarily. Due to miscalculating the damage, she didn’t use her ultimate in time to dodge the first Q. By the time she used her ultimate and heal, it was too late to avoid the second Q."
Remembered clicked his tongue in amazement: "Terrifying. But honestly, was it really Sivir’s major mistake? Not really. Maybe the biggest issue was standing too far forward under the tower and getting poked down by autos. But who would expect a full-health AD to dive another full-health AD?"
"All I can say is the same old phrase: courage is always the seventh item for an AD."
As his words fell, the live chat exploded.
[Turtle, the positioning, kiting, skill timing—everything was maxed out. Any slight mistake and you’re dead.]
[Uh oh, this AD might actually be a genius.]
[Wasn’t the double server number one already proof enough?]
[I’ll prove to the world who the best AD actually is. Are you ready?]
[Typical day of roasting RNG, why can’t they just play other games to relax?]
[Maybe Ohq is just too bad, no comparison means no contrast.]
[Actor alert, this AD made so many ridiculous plays, never used ultimate at the first chance.]
[Didn’t expect a bottom-tier team to get hyped up like this.]
[That’s typical of the Emperor’s fans—they can’t stand seeing a discarded player shine, or they’d start throwing tantrums.]
"Lin’s amazing. How did he manage to solo kill the lane bully Sivir?"
The loyal little love sent congratulations immediately in voice chat.
Lin Ruo smiled lightly: "Just luck, I admit there was some gambling involved in that play."
The little love obviously didn’t buy it: "Come on, last time when you played EZ and hit a clutch ult, you said it was a blind guess. I tried following your steps and it worked perfectly. You wouldn’t make a move without good judgement."
"Alright, alright, don’t brag, focus on the game," Tian Ye interrupted.
The match continued.
At 13 minutes, Snake grouped to aggressively push mid outer turret. Scout’s Corki teleported around behind, crashing in with bombs to disrupt the formation.
EDG seized the opportunity to engage; Olaf roamed unhindered, wreaking havoc.
A one-for-three teamfight later, they destroyed the two mid outer turrets and secured the dragon. EDG achieved a decisive victory.
"Damn it, just let me take a tower!" Zitao shouted over voice chat, mouth wide open.
What’s the point of playing Bomberman if you can’t even take a tower?
Jayce still exerted pressure in top lane; the tower was at half health.
Facing fierce defense mid, Zitao realized this might be his only chance to take a tower.
He respawned and pushed the wave, with Saint Lance actively assisting. He desperately needed to take the turret to rotate and farm.
But things looked grim—EDG seemed to anticipate their plan. Xin Zhao ulted and teleported as five gathered atop the high ground.
Watching the enemy approach with overwhelming momentum, Crystal curled up on the high ground, nearly scared out of his wits: "Almost everything’s gone, and they’re still up top."
Saint Lance hurriedly recalled on the spot.
Zitao kept pushing the wave with all his might, eyes fixed on the half-health turret.
Even if they lost this match, he was determined to take at least one tower.
Playing Bomberman without taking towers, he’d be a laughingstock for the whole scene afterward.
"Wait for me, I’ll be back after I take this tower."
Zitao finally destroyed the top outer turret. At the same time, Crystal’s mid tower also exploded.
Corki, teleporting back late, cast a dazzling ultimate to bid farewell to the departing EDG players.
"No worries, Crystal dying means better farm for me," Zitao shamelessly said.
Crystal was stunned: "Better farm my ass."
In Snake’s voice chat, two argued while others fell silent.
Saint Lance, completely frustrated, was biting his fingers.
Another episode of nearly losing everything again.
The usual teamfights ended in vain, helplessly watching teammates get slaughtered like pigs.
This game just wasn’t playable anymore. Exhausted, they wanted to give up.
At 19 minutes, Snake’s jungle ward was spotted and ambushed; both their jungle and support died.
EDG stormed in, knocked down two towers, unstoppable as they destroyed the base nexus.
Bang.
The outcome was sealed.
"Congratulations to EDG for a 2-0 sweep over Snake, securing their third win this season!" Guan Zeyuan shouted, half laughing, half crying.
"As the clock stopped at 19 minutes and 43 seconds, EDG broke the previous record and set a new shortest match time this LPL Spring Split."
Wang Remembered smiled, incredulous: "Looks like 20 minutes isn’t the limit for either EDG or Snake."
