Chapter 53: Farming Jungler
Entering the blue team's jungle and seeing the empty chicken coop, the Vietnamese player looked immensely disappointed.
He tossed a depth charge into the red buff area, but still received no response.
"The Ivern might be in the bottom lane," SoFM reminded him with a bitter tone.
Zitao immediately spoke up, "If there are no camps, come to the mid lane and deal with this scrub Orianna."
The two of them were currently even in lane, so there was definitely an opportunity to exploit.
SoFM naturally knew this. His gaze drifted to the chicken coop in his own jungle; since he was bound to pass by anyway, he might as well reluctantly pull off a gank.
Casually groping along the wall, the Rek'Sai burrowed out with a sudden *swoosh*.
Scout, whose nerves were tightly wound, turned his champion to side-step, activating Ghost to evade, but was still knocked up at the edge and subjected to a thorough beating.
Zitao also followed up to deal damage.
However, since Scout was at nearly full health and chugging health potions to recover, killing him in this sequence was completely out of the question.
On the contrary, with SoFM taking the brunt of a massive minion wave, his health bar somehow dropped by half before he even noticed.
AILol, arriving fashionably late, tossed out his Q skill and directly forced out the Rek'Sai's Flash.
SoFM re-burrowed underground to regenerate health and retreated.
Ivern's Q skill, Rootcaller, came with both damage and a binding effect. Once caught, with the minion wave and attacks from both enemies bearing down on him, there was a high probability he wouldn't be able to escape.
"Don't call me for this kind of minion wave next time," SoFM left behind a complaint and silently returned to the jungle. At half health, he was no longer worthy of even looking at the Scuttle Crab.
Zitao didn't know what to say, so he simply chose to stay quiet.
Cooperating with Scout to push the wave past the river, AILol didn't head to the river either, instead turning around to counter-jungle.
SoFM was currently eating the F6 camp. Upon seeing someone approach, he hurriedly used Smite to devour the large raptor and recover some health in the process.
Planting a brush and activating his E skill to shield himself, AILol completely ignored the proximity and started basic attacking.
SoFM had no choice but to abandon the remaining small raptors and retreat.
Currently, he not only had to endure the brutal beating from Ivern, but he was also being chased and attacked by a flock of small raptors. In the blink of an eye, he was pushed all the way back in front of the tier-two turret.
Zitao, clearing waves in the mid lane, was powerless to help.
SoFM grew even more depressed.
He was actually being chased and driven away by an Ivern who only knew how to auto-attack—it was the height of humiliation.
Not only that, but he also had to watch helplessly as Ivern planted his passive on the camp, Smited away the red buff, and continued moving toward the Krugs area.
*What the hell?* My base was gone; the jungle had truly become someone else's pig farm this time.
Remaining completely silent, SoFM gritted his teeth and made his way from the jungle back down to the lower river, devoured the remaining Scuttle Crab, and intended to counter-jungle the enemy's Krugs to slightly minimize his losses.
However, EDG gave him no opportunity. Zyra harassed him while he was taking the Scuttle Crab and blocked his entry into the jungle.
As a result, SoFM no longer dared to carry out his invasion blatantly.
But failing to go in and farm meant his early game was going to explode.
Bold yet careful, SoFM circled around and sneaked in from the backside of the red buff. When it came to taking jungle camps, he had never been one to shy away.
Securing the Krugs to hit level four, the level gap was finally made up by more than half.
Yet, circling around for ages just to take a single camp of Krugs was a visible and heavy loss.
Zitao intended to offer some comfort, but after holding it in for a long time, he still didn't manage to let out a single peep.
Flandre's pressure in the top lane skyrocketed: "Why aren't you ganking top? You've just got to obsess over invading the bottom jungle. If you had come earlier, this Jayce might already have died once."
With Ivern showing up, his Fiora could only watch the minions from under the tower.
The slight early advantage he built at level one was completely gone.
SoFM, with his thick skin, didn't utter a single word. With the upper jungle emptied out, he recalled and headed back down to start farming the newly refreshed jungle camps.
The top lane? Going to the top lane was simply out of the question.
Why go up there when there are no camps?
Seeing that the enemy F6 camp was about to respawn, the lonely Vietnamese player decided to try his luck once more.
Passing through the familiar river, he ran straight into Ivern and was beaten back yet again.
His second chicken-stealing plan was declared a failure.
"Bloody hell, he's still obsessed with that nest of birds."
Zhu Kai's face in the Snake lounge turned red with uncontrollable fury. He slammed his fist on the table and immediately summoned the substitute jungler, Zzr, who was sitting nearby.
"This game is practically over. You're going in next game, swap that Vietnamese guy out."
"If I let him keep playing, I'm going to be sleeping on the streets by tomorrow."
"Me? You want me to take down EDG..." Zzr wore a troubled expression, pointing at himself with a lack of confidence. "Can I even do it?"
This was playing against last year's league champions, EDG! Furthermore, how many days had it been since he last participated in scrims or team synergy practice?
"As long as you don't stare blindly at the raptors, no matter how bad you play, you won't possibly do worse than the Vietnamese guy, got it?" Zhu Kai encouraged him.
Hearing this, Zzr gained a sliver of confidence. He had never dared to invade the enemy's jungle anyway, let alone lay eyes on something like F6.
Meanwhile, SoFM, completely oblivious to his own fate, failed to steal any camps and was forced to head to the upper jungle, taking the Scuttle Crab just a step ahead.
Six minutes into the game, he finally deigned to cast a glance at the top lane, lingering in the tri-brush for a short while.
Seeing his own F6 camp respawn, SoFM hurriedly threw out the excuse that a gank wasn't possible and immediately left.
At this moment, an excited shout suddenly rang out through Snake's voice comms: "I hooked the Zyra, we can fight!"
The perspective shifted to the bottom lane.
Crystal, who had missed hook after hook, finally seized an opportunity, landed a hook on the enemy, and reactivated his E to pull himself in.
However, after trading a single blow and feeling his health drop at an alarming rate, he finally realized that it might actually be the enemy's opportunity instead.
Lin Ruo chased and auto-attacked, and a single, charged-up fourth shot from his bullet literally numbed Crystal's brain.
"What the hell, how can this damage be so painful?"
"It's no use, even when you hook them we still can't win. Stop throwing hooks," Ohq said helplessly.
Thresh's health had dropped below the halfway mark, and now the two of them had to be more cautious than ever just to farm minions under the tower.
AILol, smelling blood like a hound, rushed right over, and the Snake bottom-lane duo was forced to retreat backward.
Over the course of a single minion wave bouncing back and forth, the red team's tier-one tower dropped to half health.
"Bloody hell, SoFM, what on earth are you doing?" Crystal, who was waiting to recall near the tier-two tower, couldn't help but question him.
"Ganking top," SoFM replied without a blush or a skipped heartbeat, his stealthy figure already stepping from the river into the upper jungle.
Since Ivern was in the bottom lane, he figured he might as well go stroll around up there.
During this time, Jayce came to the river to place a ward, forcing SoFM to make a move and burn a Flash before he could peacefully go steal a Gromp.
At the caster desk, Guan Zeyuan had already chuckled out loud: "You really have to hand it to him. Even though SoFM's early game didn't go smoothly and his jungle was invaded, his level is actually higher than Ivern's now."
Jie De didn't quite know how to respond for a moment. After thinking it over, he forcefully hyped him up: "You have to admit, SoFM's ability to recover his farm as a player is still quite impressive."
The livestream chat had already erupted into complete chaos.
[Is this jungler even human? His teammates are struggling to survive while he farms camps; his teammates are getting dived under the tower and he's still farming camps.]
[He definitely match-fixed, strongly recommend a thorough investigation. How are you supposed to play with a jungler like this?]
[100% an inside agent planted by EDG. How much money did he take to pull this kind of stunt?]
[It's no wonder Snake is sitting at the bottom of the league, failing to beat a newly promoted team for a reason.]
[Does the mid laner even look like a human player? He's getting held down completely, SoFM is just there to help accelerate the collapse in the early game.]
[The bottom lane Thresh doesn't look human either, missing Qs the entire time and the one time he finally hits one, he drags himself straight to the tier-two tower.]
[The coach is even less human, picking Thresh into Zyra. At least when WE picks Thresh they know how to roam around a little.]
[Flandre, run for your life next season! Staying another second in this trash-tier team is pure torture.]
