“Naruto!” Kurama’s roar shook the heavens.

“Got it!”

At Kurama’s reminder, Naruto, standing atop its head, naturally noticed several targets that had suddenly appeared in the distance.

“Use consecutive Tailed Beast Bombs!”

“Right!”

Kurama opened its abyssal maw, and terrifying chakra rapidly gathered within it.

Then—

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

Several Tailed Beast Bombs shot out like bullets and struck their targets.

Boom!

A deafening explosion rang out.

“Max Rasenshuriken!”

In the blink of an eye, a Rasenshuriken condensed in Naruto’s hand, larger by a full circle than his entire body.

He hurled it with all his might.

The Rasenshuriken, infused with Wind and Fire chakra, traced an arc through the air, striking every target along a line with pinpoint accuracy before finally hitting the target that had just appeared.

Crackle—

Naruto suddenly pointed behind him. A bolt of lightning pierced the target that had flashed into existence at his back.

Hum—

Without even glancing behind him, Naruto instantly formed two more Rasenshuriken in his left and right hands and flung them.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

The two Rasenshuriken, containing terrifying chakra and astonishing destructive power, flew along two unbelievable curves. They struck a chain of targets, then carried away an entire section of them in the ensuing explosions.

“Naruto, your shuriken-throwing technique is invincible!”

“Haha, of course it is.”

Naruto laughed loudly. Did Kurama understand how terrifying it was to have mastered shuriken techniques completely?

“Front left! Use a Super-Massive Tailed Beast Bomb.”

“Right!”

Boom!

After the violent explosion, the raging wind made the hem of Naruto’s clothes snap and flutter.

Seeing more and more targets appear, Naruto shouted, “Kurama, jump into the sky!”

“Are you going to use that technique?”

“Yes.”

At those words, Kurama grew somewhat excited.

“Good!”

Kurama leapt with all its strength, then continued striding through empty air.

Once they had reached a sufficient height, Naruto sprang upward. Gazing at the targets flickering incessantly throughout that stretch of space, he formed hand seals.

The instant he completed the Horse Seal, Naruto felt the chakra within his body surge powerfully.

“Fire Release: Majestic Destroyer Flame!”

An immense quantity of chakra surged forth, instantly transforming into a sea of flames that covered the entire space containing the targets.

And that was not all.

Terrifying flames filled the sky, almost burning everything to ash.

At that moment, a spectacular sight appeared: an underground sea below and a sea of fire above.

Kurama leapt down, caught Naruto, and landed upon the surface of the water.

Even from such a great distance, Kurama could still sense the horrifying heat contained within the sea of flames overhead.

It also saw the alloy targets melting one after another into molten iron. Unable to contain its astonishment, Kurama said, “Naruto, your Fire Release is already stronger than Uchiha Madara’s.”

“Uchiha Madara? Is that the man you told me about?”

“That’s him!”

Whenever Kurama recalled that man, it still ground its teeth in hatred.

Before meeting him, it had been a free-tailed beast, happily running beneath the sunset every day. That man was the one who had begun its eternal nightmare.

“Don’t worry, Kurama. If I ever meet him, I’ll teach him a proper lesson for you.”

Besides, that bastard had also caused Naruto’s parents to die.

Uchiha Madara released the Nine-Tails on the night of the Nine-Tails’ attack. The Nine-Tails destroyed the village. Naruto’s parents died protecting the village. Therefore, Uchiha Madara had caused Naruto’s parents to die.

The logic was flawless.

Although Kurama had never described the events of that night in detail, Naruto had already managed to piece together most of the truth.

After all, his parents had died that very night.

And they had not been the only ones. The Fourth Hokage and countless Konoha shinobi had also perished.

Uchiha Madara truly had committed sins beyond measure.

“Hey, Kurama, let’s go back.”

With that, Naruto and Kurama vanished in a flash and returned to land.

Kurama had already shrunk down. There was a small house nearby—their home.

As soon as they returned, Kurama went inside and brought a warm roast chicken out of the microwave.

It gestured toward Naruto. When Naruto indicated that he did not want any, Kurama shoved the entire chicken into its abyssal maw.

Crunch, crunch—

Before Kurama, bones were probably even more brittle than crackers.

Glug—

After swallowing the roast chicken, Kurama picked up a large bottle of cola and guzzled it down.

“Naruto, are you really going to school again tomorrow?” Kurama asked curiously after lowering the bottle.

“Of course.”

“But your strength…”

“Getting stronger isn’t the only purpose of going to school.” Naruto smiled. At that moment, he remembered the request the old Hokage had made of him the previous day.

“Naruto, it’s time for you to start school. Here is your enrollment notice.”

That day, the old man had seemed even more exhausted than usual.

Presumably, sending a jinchuriki like Naruto to school had met with considerable resistance.

If those parents who hated him learned that their children might become classmates with the Nine-Tails, they would probably turn the village upside down.

“There are many children your age at the academy. You can make plenty of friends there.”

That was what the old man had told him.

It seemed he had already grown accustomed to Naruto’s ordinariness. His eyes no longer shone with the brightness and hope they had possessed several years ago, when he praised Naruto as a genius.

Naruto had disappointed the old man, but he had never dared become a genius.

Now, the old man seemed only to hope that Naruto could grow up like an ordinary child. That was why he had sent him to school.

Unfortunately, Naruto’s identity as the Nine-Tails’ jinchuriki could not be changed, and neither could the villagers’ perception of him. He could never become an ordinary child.

Even so, he genuinely wanted to attend school. He truly wanted to make some friends.

In his previous life, the friends he had made in elementary school had stayed by his side until he grew up, even after he crossed into this world.

This life ought to be the same.

“You can make good friends at school too,” Naruto said.

He smiled and glanced at Kurama. “I can bring my best friends to meet you and play with you, so don’t make that face.”

“Of course. Naruto’s friends are my friends too. I’ll bring out roast chicken and cola to entertain them.”

“Haha. See you tonight, Kurama.”

In the real world, Naruto opened his eyes.

He checked the time. Perfect.

He got out of bed, washed up, prepared himself, and set off for school.

Naruto had already made a plan. If he could make friends, he would make friends. But if the children had been poisoned too deeply by their parents, he could always become the school bully.

He had figured things out long ago.

He, Naruto Uzumaki, was the Nine-Tails’ jinchuriki. As long as he did not commit the act of betraying the village, he could do whatever he wanted.

Besides, all he was doing was becoming a school bully.

The opening ceremony began.

The Third Hokage stood above them, proclaiming the Will of Fire. Naruto did not need to listen to know that it was no different from what he had heard during their first meeting.

Everyone stood before the school gates, with the children gathered in one group and the parents in another.

Naruto did not join the crowd. He sat alone on a swing at the back. He had no parents, so what was the point of standing around with everyone else?

“Now I announce that you are the newest students of the Ninja Academy.”

Ding!

[Main Quest: Enter the Ninja Academy — Complete]

“This ridiculous thing took several years to complete at last.”

Naruto sighed inwardly. The idiot who had designed this system was truly hopeless. Even a minor main quest had required several years to finish.

For a player, perhaps it would have been nothing more than a skipped cutscene. But Naruto had waited through three solid years—three entire years.

Damn it all.

After the classes were assigned, Naruto examined his rewards.

Ten skill points, ten thousand experience points, and the title of Ninja Academy Student.

Not a bad haul.

Just as he was planning how to use them, he suddenly heard a name that had been etched deeply into his memory.

“My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I like…”

Naruto’s head snapped up. He stared at the black-haired boy on the platform, his gaze burning like a torch.

At last, I’ve found you.

The protagonist!
