Main Text: Launching Tomorrow—A Note on the Official Release!!!

I Want to Be the King of Hell The Hound of the Dreadful Night 1468 words 2026-04-13 18:47:12

Today’s chapter will be released at 4:00 PM. The book officially launches tomorrow at 10:00 AM, with updates starting at 12:00 PM, one chapter every hour until 10:00 PM.

Every 100 monthly tickets will earn an extra chapter, though these will be fulfilled the day after tomorrow. My grandmother passed away at 2:00 AM today, and I must rush back to my hometown immediately. Consequently, I can only fulfill those requests the day after tomorrow. I expect there won't be too many, as my previous book didn't perform well, and many long-time readers have moved on. It’s a conflicting feeling—I hope for many, yet I also hope for few.

Anyway, this is a personal matter, and there is no need for it to affect the work. Now, let’s get to the point.

I have been writing on Zongheng for five years. From a complete nobody at the start to someone who can now join the ranks of the annual convention, I may not be the best writer, but the website has at least recognized my dedication. I have seen many titans of the craft—Fenghuo, Wuzui, Gengsu, Zhibai, and others. Looking back, I have reached my fourth book before I even realized it.

From the newcomer days of *Superstar Cultivation System*, where I wrote based on what moved me; to *Super Entertainment Dynasty*, where I gained some technical skill and wrote based on memories and emotions; to *Strongest Monster*, where I relied on creative concepts and passion... and now to this book, which I write through pure hard work. Looking back, I realize I have already written ten million words.

*I Want to Be Yama* is different from the previous three. Before I started writing, I thought hard about what kind of book I wanted to create. Since the performance of *Strongest Monster* was not ideal, many readers left. I have no complaints; after all, readers are the judges, and if the book is not good, I cannot blame anyone for leaving. I just wondered what kind of book I could write that would make readers stay and remember me.

I thought a lot and looked at many books on the market, eventually choosing a direction: urban supernatural.

This is a very popular genre at the moment, and it happens to be one I particularly enjoy. I grew up watching horror films—from Lam Ching-ying and vampire flicks to scouring the internet in the early 2000s for the original *Ju-On* (the terrifying DV version; I don't know how many people have seen it, but it must be very few). When I saw the urban supernatural genre, I felt a spark. I just knew I wanted to write it.

I am more skilled at writing urban settings, as my books that gained some minor recognition were all urban, and I also love the supernatural. Thus, the genre was decided.

After that, I wondered what the style of this book should be. I initially chose a serious tone, but it didn't go well; my editor, "Heartless Fish," sent it back. I decided to let go and write in my natural voice, and that is how *I Want to Be Yama* came to be.

I want to make it lighthearted for everyone.

I want you to enjoy the plot developments amidst humorous banter without feeling tense. In this fast-paced society, you are already under enough pressure, so I want to offer you some relaxation—lighthearted yet rigorous. That is how the current style was born.

It is quite different from my previous works, and I don't know if you will like it. Everything depends on tomorrow’s subscriptions.

Finally, I thought about what this book should be about. Catching ghosts? That’s too common; I felt it lacked novelty. So, I chose a "construction" theme—building the underworld from nothing. I find it very interesting and hope the readers will agree.

There isn't much else to say. I have only one wish...

I hope that readers who enjoy this book will subscribe. One chapter costs three cents for VIP1, or two cents for VIP2. At most, it’s just the cost of a bus ticket a day. Please do not take the fruits of someone else’s labor for granted. Hundreds of thousands of words were typed out one by one by the author. I don't want to resort to anti-piracy measures, so I ask that you please respect the author's work.

I hope that through this book, I can win you over, and I hope the story will leave you with something to cherish.

If you went to work and didn't get paid, would you feel good about it? No, right? Put yourself in my shoes. Every subscription from a reader is tied to the author's livelihood.

Alright! *I Want to Be Yama* officially launches tomorrow at 12:00 PM. I hope those who like this book will subscribe enthusiastically! Thank you!

It seems I really don’t know how to write a launch announcement. I can’t write those heart-pounding, high-energy posts, so I can only share my honest thoughts. I hope for your support and subscriptions. Thank you again!

See you tomorrow!!
