The snow on the ground had yet to fully melt, but the streets were already bustling with a continuous flow of carriages and pedestrians, alive with excitement.

On Willow Street in the southern part of the city, in the back courtyard of the Sun residence.

Within an elegantly adorned lady’s chamber, a young maiden sat before her dressing table, applying the finest rouge in front of a bronze mirror.

A maid stood behind her, carefully arranging her lustrous hair.
